This depends on several factors: how much wine you keep on hand, where you will be putting the cooler (cool/warm room in the house) and if you are buying a freestanding cooler/built-in. If you never have more than two cases, plan on keeping the cooler somewhere it won't get too warm and you want a freestanding cooler, you should look into purchasing a thermoelectric cooling system.

Does a thermoelectric wine cooler have a ventilation system?

Absolutely, every wine cooling system has to have a ventilation system that will channel the heat generated in the operation, outside of the unit, including the thermoelectric wine cooler.

Why should I buy a thermoelectric wine cooler as opposed to a compressor model?

There are many reasons to purchase a thermoelectric cooler including, but not limited to, being quiet and eco-friendly. Personally, I prefer thermoelectric coolers because they don't vibrate. The vibration of a compressor cooling system can cause the sediments in the wine to be disturbed and affect the flavor/taste of the wine.

What is a thermoelectric wine cooling system?

Thermoelectric cooling is best used in small wine coolers. Small fans from inside the cooling fridge evenly dispense cool temperatures throughout the interior of the unit.

Thermoelectric refrigerator not cooling, changed modules, still not cooling? Thanks

Check your amps off your compressor. You'll also need to make sure you capactor and thermo overload is still functional.
Give up your model number and part number you replaced would make a big differance.

If the unit is a thermoelectric unit it can be the cooling system.
If the unit is a compressor unit it will be the thermostat.

The 5640 Coleman cooler motor runs, but unit does not cool.

This is a thermoelectric (TE) cooler. There is no gas' to replace in it's cooling system. It is possible the thermoelectric coupler has gone bad. Unfortunately Coleman does not seem to offer a replacement part. If you Google thermoelectric couplers, maybe you can find something on the web. Good Luck.
