You should look for non-toxic biodegradable products to help remove bird waste safely. I use a product called ****-off Bird **** Remover.

How can you keep bird food from coming out of the cage

Hello, Brenda -

There are products named "seed catchers" and "seed guards" which one can purchase or mak. oneself

Just use your favorite search engine (Bing, Google, Yahoo Search, etc.) and enter these search phrases (separately), using quotation marks as shown:
"seed catcher"
"seed guard"

They do not keep seeds from coming out of a bird cage. Instead, they are designed to catch much of the debris from a bird cage. making clean up less messy.

Best wishes.

What should I put on the bottom of my birds cage?

Many people like to use newspaper; which I don't understand because it creates such a mess. I found a great product from Doctors Foster & Smith that I love. They are cage liners. These products are great because not only do they help make clean up a lot easier, but they help indicate whether my birds are possible sick since I can see their droppings on the white surface. Here is a link to the product I use. They are available in several pre-cut sizes that should fit any cage.

What are some of the more popular styles of bird cages and which style is best?

Some of the most popular styles include flight cages, play-top cages and dome-top cages. I cannot commit to saying that one style is better than the others; I believe that it depends on the type of bird and how many birds are going to be living in the cage. Do some research on each style and I am sure you will be able to determine which suits your needs the best.

What's a travel bird cage?

The travel bird cage is usually a smaller version of a normal bird cage. The travel bird cage does not need to be large, nor does it need to be as durable as your bird cage. Be sure that your bird can comfortably fit in this cage for a short amount of time so that it will not become stressed.

How would I know if my cage is safe?

For a bird cage to be safe the birds inside should be able to spread their wings and stretch without hitting the cage's sides or any other object. Moreover, In some countries, it is illegal to house a pet bird in a cage that does not permit it to spread its wings.
