Vip 722k dvr is making funny noise when changing channels between sd and hd

Finally got a hdtv to enjoy the hd channels with this receiver. After some research on net I see that there is an issue with the audio on some folks boxes. My issue is the popping and cracking noise when changing between hd and sd channels. Also fast forwarding a hd dvr recording that it happens. I have it connected with a 12 foot hdmi cable. I am looking for a fix. I am in the boonies and am not internet hardwired to the dvr. Dunno if I can get a firmware update or if this issue has been solved. The forums I have read on this went as far back as 2006. Any help would be graciously appreciated. TY in advance.

SOURCE: I lose my audio often for non-hd channels with dish 622 dvr

The problem could lie in youir HDMI cable, this is a common issue. if you swap HDMI cables and still have the same problem then bypass your A/v rec and connect your 622 direct to your tv and see if the problem persists, it it does, then your DVR needs to be replaced, you can call dish for addition troubleshooting if it is in fact your DVR.

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. I apologize for the problem you have been experiencing with your signal loss on the HD channels. The majority of our HD channels come from a different satellite then the ones that carry our SD channels. It is not uncommon to have a signal loss on HD channels but still have good signal on the SD channels. We at Dish Network do not have the ability to effect the satellite signal in your home. Hi 97smash, my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I see where thereceiver needs to be reset for it to watch TV. There are some things you cancheck to clear up this issue, please select the buttons of MENU-6-1-1 andselect Check Switch and then Test.     Some noise from the receivers is normal as they are constantly updating the guide and checking for any software updates. How loud would you say the hum is, and is it constant or intermittent?

    HOW TO CONNECT MY ILO TO MY DISH NETWORK AND MY TV


    Hi Calvin Graham, the answer will depend on if you have a HDTV and receiver or not. If the model # on the front of the receiver starts with ViP, then it is an HD receiver and the picture will be on HDMI1. If not a ViP, it is SD and I would try AVideo1 input on the TV. Also if not an HD receiver and the TV is in the room with the receiver you can try channels 3 or 4. If the receiver is in another room try channel 60 or 73 on the TV.     Only recieve HD programs on my Vip 612 receiver. I want to receive non HD channels as well


    Hello! The guide might be set to only HD. You will find this out by going into the guide. At the top Left of your guide, you will see that it says left to the right of the DISH Network logo. If it says ALL HD, then just press the GUIDE button again, until the list says ALL CHAN or ALL SUB. This way, you can view not only HD channels, but SD channels as well! Hope this helps!!!!

    My Hd channels are saying complete signal loss then later they are available again, then complete loss again. Can switch to non hd channels but want the Hd. What do you suggest

    I just switched to an HD receiver. The sound on the HD Channels is lower than the sound on the regular channels. How can I fix this? Dishnetwork has aready checked their end.


    Some Sanyo TV's have a feature called Dynamic volume, this feature can be enabled by just pressing the dynamic volume button on the factory remote. We happen to offer a similar feature called volume leveling on our VIP 722k, 612, and 222k receivers. This is a recently released feature that will keep the volume even, during commercials or when changing channels. To access this press menu 6-1-6 and select enable under volume leveling.

    CANT GET ON LINE


    The ethernet port is not active on these receivers thus not allowing you to get on ine. There currently are no plans to activate this in the future but you may for an upgrade to a 722 which does allow this and is HD capable and has 300 hours of SD record tine available.     Sounds stop working after about 1 to 2 hours of viewing.


    We would be happy to help you with this. The volume levelingfeature that we have sounds perfect for this situation; it keeps the volumelevels consistent between programming and commercials and also prevents drasticvolume level changes when switching between HD and SD programming. The volumeleveling feature is supported by the following receivers: ViP 222k, ViP 612,ViP 722k, and ViP 922; the model number of your receiver is displayed onthe front in the lower left corner. Your receiver needs to be connected by onof the following: composite cable (green, blue, red cables), coax cable (singlecable with metallic tip), HDMI or optical devices that do not support Dolbyaudio.

    Start by pressing the menu button on your DISH Network remote control, thenpress the number 6 for system setup then 7 for audio output. Once therehighlight the "Enable" option below Volume Leveling and press select.Once enable exit the menu by selecting done on the right side of the screen.

    Need to Frequently Reset Dish Network HD VIP 612 Solo DVR.


    When you bring up your guide look at the top of the screen and you will see the LIST: if this says ALL HD then press the guide button until you see ALL SUB or a menu and select ALL SUB. If your guide keeps changing by itself its possible to have remote interfence since you have a UHF remote, especially if you also see channel changes as well. Try setting the guide and go from there. If you still continue to have issues call 1-800-333-3474 for tech support for extensive troubleshooting or at dishnetwork .com/tech.
