Question about Denon AVR-2311CI 7.2 3D Home Theater Receiver
The display filaments which are the two outside pins will have 3-4 vac and the center pins should have around -25vdc on them if not check power supply

Check the supply line and circuits to the display.
Could be cold solder joint, rectifier or capacitor.
check also if there are resistors in series.

This can be either the display itself or the display driver IC havng problems. Something as simple as poor solder connections may cause this as well. Without seeing hte unit, it is difficult to say what the real problem is. If you can solder, try resoldering all of the voltage regulator ICs in the unit. These look like transistors and will be marked 7805 or 7812. If the voltages drift too low because of bad connections, the ICs can get "confused" and not work properly.

I had this same experience and after hours of attepts to fix it (including the suggestions on this site) I found that the company that installed and set up my system literally disabled the "set up" on the remote so that it could not be changed. To fix this (and/or confirm that this may be your problem) reference page 39, "all reset functions" to reset your remote back to factory settings. As soon as I did this and hit "set-up" -- the set up menu popped up and worked appropriately. Hope this works for you!
