Trying to remove built in Kenmore microwave 1994 #89755

I am trying to remove my microwave without totally wrecking it or my kitchen. I put it in my house when I built it in 1994 and it has finally blown. I can't seem to get it out. Any ideas? I unscrewed the 2 screws atop but apparently there is something more holding it.

There are 2 more mounting bolts behind the plastic grill on the front of the microwave. They're about an inch down from the top and go all the way through and screw in to the wall bracket.

You may be able to download the installation instructions from the Sears parts site.

Just enter your model number there.

A full Sears/Kenmore model number has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as ###.########

On the resulting page, look to the right for the blue "View manuals" button. Click it.

That Sears-related site has many free manuals. While the manuals they list there are all free, they will ask you to register.

Many times, the owner's manual will have the installation instructions inside.

If yours is not listed there for free, you would have to order it through the
Sears parts site.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

The door latch is a safety interlock that prevents your microwave oven from doing what it is doing. The latch has failed and has to be replaced.

Overheating bottom Kenmore 66560652000

Hi,

I would suspect that when the microwave oven was on the table the vent or air openings were restricted by the table. Without free flowing air the control and other components could build up heat. It is doubtful that you built up enough heat to damage anything as this unit has more than one over temperature safety devices built into it.

That being said, the excess heat could weaken something internally especially on the control that would cause it to fail sooner than later in life.

My advice would be to leave it unplugged until it is mounted back on the wall per the instructions and use it then as normal. If it fails in the next year or so replace it at that time.

Kenmore built in microwave displaying "D" and wont heat.

"d" may mean demo mode. The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power outlet for 10 minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.
