Question about Hitachi 50V720 Television

1 Answer

"No Sync Signal" on both component inputs

Both component inputs produce no picture. I have cable and a 360 hooked up which worked fine for a long time then stopped. I tested the cables on another television and the picture came through fine. The HDMI input works, the AV input works, but not the component. Is it possible to wearout the inputs? Is the a internal computer problem? I'm at a loss. Please help!

SOURCE: Hitachi 50V720 No sound with HDMI - no Component video inputs

Right now there seems to be many people with the same TV problems with sony and HDMI cables. Most of the solutions are resetting the TV and sony product. Try leaving your TV unplugged for a hour to let it reset itself.

Tuner or a sync problem----using the video inputs bypasses the tuner and front end of the set's signal circuits---consider using a box with audio and video outs to a rear input and bypass the problem.

I have a hitachi 50v720, when I try to connect component cables to the input 5 spot to play my playstation 3, I go to input 5 and it says no sync signal across the screen. I also have an a/v receiver...

Hi,
First hook up another A/V input like your DVD player to this A/V input 5 to determine if the fault is in the TV itself.
Let me know if the symptoms still the same after connecting your DVD player to input 5 to assist you further.

No picture with Yamaha 6130 reciever. have

The TV must be tuned to the correct input also. Please cycle through the tv inputs by pressing the input button on the tv one time, then wait 5 to 10 seconds for the tv to recognize the input signal. If nothing, press again. You don't say which tv you have but many newer models have 5 to 7 input sources you will have to cycle through to find your signal.

With out more information, this is just one step in finding out what could be wrong. Please rank me accordingly.

Good luck.

Wavy picture after hooking up component switch

What you are using is probably an active switch. Many of the movies have macrovision protection. The active switch is having problems to deal with sync pulses from the video containing the macro vision protection.

No Picture from Component Input #1 or #2 but do have audio via Surrond Sound

Simplest thing would be that your component cables are not HU'd correctly. Having them reversed would do this.

No picture using component on Toshiba 32HL66

It may be a synch issue. Make sure your component input is set for the proper type of output. Your XBOX 360 is likely set to 1080i, but your DVD and PS2 are only 480i (or maybe 480p for the DVD if progressive scan). Sometimes component inputs are 'self adjusting' to the signal, but others require manual setting.
