Question about Samsung DMT400RHW Builtin Dishwasher

1 Answer

Samsung Dishwasher error light "heavy" or leakage error

The "Heavy" light was blinking (manual says that is a "leakage error"). It seems to try to drain water out and then stops running. We replaced the intake hose because we found it was dripping a bit. When we reattached everything, it still behaved the way it was before. Yesterday, soon after we started it, we opened it to see if something was bumping the sprayers, but when we closed it, it seemed to run fine, and the light didn't come on until this evening, so we wonder if it's something with the electrical system, or at the very least, if now that we fixed the dripping at the inlet area, it simply has not 'reset' its programming.

I had the same problem, SAMSUNG did not want to tell me how to fix so I jumped in with research I found that after you remove the power supply, i.e. plug, 1) you need to remove the dishwasher and turn it upside down. 2) There is a white sensor tray; 12x12 approx. on the bottom held in with two screws, remove the screws and use a flat head screwdrider to undo the clips holding the tray in place. 3) Dry the tray and sensor tips with a towel and replace the tray. Bammmm, you have just fixed the LE(leaking error) code error.

Thanks for the info. There's was barely any water in the tray but it was enough to cause this error. 20 minutes later, we're back in business.

Completely Agee that cleaning and drying the tray and sensors fixes the symptom. Remember to fix the root cause which is usually debris throughout the filter system in the bottom pan. Easy to disassemble, just a dozen or more screws.

I had that heavy error. Called a repairman. He told me not to use nothing but cascade. Dont use double soap. and dont use the dishwasher cleaner. dont stop the cycle during rinse. By the time I called the repairman and the time he arrived for the service call...1 week.. The dishwasher had fixed itself and dryed out....

SOURCE: Samsung Dishwasher can drain, but gives "drain error"

Sounds like it could be those same water level sensors you worked on before. Only now its telling the thing that there is water still standing in the unit. Try cleaning those sensors again and I know this sounds obvious but check all your conections.

Samsung dishwasher heavy and delicate lights blink and cycle stops

The lights that are blinking are indicating an error code--the particular code you describe is a "heater error". You will have to check the circuit for an open heater element, loose or broken wire, defective main control board. The part number for the main board is DE92-02256C. Hope I helped you!

What causes a Samsung dishwasher to flash heavy and smart auto on control panel

Hello. The lights you describe are an error code that means over-level filling (overflow condition) and/or the leakage sensor underneath has detected water. You need to check underneath the unit for any moisture. There is a leakage sensor located at the center of the base, underneath the unit. If it detects water, it will notify the main board which will stop the unit until the condition is cleared.

WHY DOES THE MOTOR ON MY SAMSUNG DISHWASHER RUN ALL THE TIME AND THE LIGHT ABOVE HEAVY BLINK?

Yes, you've got a leakage error, which means water has leaked down into the base of the dishwasher. The drain pump runs all the time, trying to get all the water out, but the drain pump can't get to the water down in the base. (Those North Korean engineers/designers aren't too bright.) You'll have to pull the dishwasher out, pull off the side panels, and dry up all the water before that drain pump will stop running. But you still have the problem of figuring out where the leak came from and fixing the problem before you can use the dishwasher. The most common source of leakage in a Samsung DW is the drain pump and/or drain hose.

Is it possible for the homeowner to fix a Samsung dishwasher that has the "heavy" light blinking and will not run? The manual says it is a leakage problem but no leakage is detected.

You are correct, the HEAVY light blinking indicates a leakage problem. Remember that the Samsung DW's (dishwashers) have a base that holds the water so it doesn't run out on your floor. You will have to pull your DW out so you can remove the right-side metal panel. Pull the insulation up so you can look inside. You will see the floor of the plastic base has a low spot in it, and the water sensor is located over that area. That area must be completely dry (1/8" of water will trigger the error). Once you sop up and dry all the water there, you can start up the dishwasher and watch for leaks. The most common places are the drain pump (also visible on the right-hand side) or the drain hose. And sometimes, there is no leak, but water got in there because you used too much detergent (or the wrong detergent), and it caused it to overflow into the base.

Blinking heavy light on Samsung DW7933LRAWW. please help!!

That indicates a leakage error. Water has leaked down into the base of the machine. You will need to sop up and dry out all the water down in there, then find the leak, which is most commonly caused by a bad drain pump and/or drain hose. Good luck!

Samsung dishwasher flashing heavy light

Had a look in the user manual for your dishwasher.http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201211/20121101114232459/DW7933LRASR-00141A-02.pdf

Page 26 shows blinking Heavy light means there is leakage in the dishwasher. Most likely there is water in the base under the drain sump which could cause the flood switch to trip. Turn mains power to dishwasher off. Pull it out from under kitchen bench without breaking the hoses. Put some towels on the floor and turn dishwasher back and forth on incline to get water out. Wait a little and turn on. If no difference then you need to dry the base and find the source of the leak. More likely the door seal.
