Clean ice from drain hole then take a wire hanger and cut it to about 3-4 inches , wrap one end around defrost element anf the other end down the drain hole . use a turkey baster to force VERY hot water down drain hole to clear build up and debris

maybe you fridge is tilting to far forward some times a fridge needs to lean back slightly only by 5 degs so adjust the foot t the front. this will mke the water flow towards the back and also help keep the doors sealed better

SOURCE: the hole that drains water away at back of fridge is blocked

Ok you need to defrost this unit eg unplug and leave all doors open for 48 hours then get some "flexy curtain wire (white plastic coated, used for hanging net curtains) this wire is perfect for getting up or down the fridge drain.

Please rate my advice

Without seeing this I can't tell you a price or exact fault but the first free thing to try that could likely fix it. unplug the unit from the power and leave both the doors open for 48hrs so the unit is 100% defrosted then try again. cheers.

How to remove back panel of GS2326CEDW/11 Admiral fridge freezer

If the water is showing on the freezer side, more than likely you have a clogged drain. This occurs when the machine goes into defrost and the melted ice somehow is prevented from draining and therefor refreezing and blocking the drain for the next defrost cycle. The best way to resolve this is to unplug the machine for atleast 24-48 hours to let all ice melt. Also note on the maytags these days they put a rubber piece called a duck bill on the bottom half of the drain which will also cause this over time. To access this piece you'll have to pull the machine from the wall and remove the lower panel and find the plastic drain and remove the duck bill

Water is dripping down the back wall of my hotpoint refrigerator model # CTX21DA. The water collect at the bottom and drips onto the floor. How old is the refrigerator and what would the cause be for...

The problem is relatively simple to repair. The drain tube in the freezer is blocked so the water will drain down the back of your fridge. Often the drain gets blocked by ice build up. The defrost circuit in your fridge has failed and ice is building up on the evap coil in the freezer. When the ice builds up, it blocks the drain tube. The typical failures of the defrost is the timer failing to advance or the heater is burned out. Being that said it was probally manufactured at least10 years ago, and certainly a new refridgerator would be more energy efficient and cheaper to operate than using a 10 year old model. Whether you should repair or replace it depends on whether you have the money to replace it. Hope this helps you.

Water keeps accumulating in the bottom of our HotPoint refrigerator?

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer2.gif..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curtain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you have any other question. Mike
