Zalman VF2000 LED fan starts then stops right after boot

I say its a dud. The fan works by magnets inside. When the electromagnets get electricity it causes the polity of them to change making the fan move. Its possible half of them are dead outta the box. Send it back especially because the connections to a video card is simple considering its a plug.

Zalman VF2000 LED fan starts then stops right after boot

Sounds like a defective fan, something having to do with the thermal probe, it causes the fan to speed up when cpu gets hot and to slow down when the cpu is cool. I suggest returning it for another one

The fan is making a clicking noise, its on the left side and ive tried to blow into the fan, but it makes no difference. Its about 4 months old.

It probably sucked some object into the fan. the only way to clear it, is to open the laptop up and extract whatever is in the fan.

Get the free utility "Speedfan" at it is a great utility for managing all the fans and temp setting inside your computer.

Cpu fan

There are usually more than one place to plug in a CPU fan. Only one of them is actually for the CPU fan, and monitored by the system BIOS. Make sure your fan is plugged into the right connector.
