Question about Samsung RS2630SH Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

I have a samsung fridge, model # rs-2545sh

I just purchased this fridge, but it didn't come with an owners manual, and I would like to know what settings to set the freezer and the refridgerator. When i plugged it in, the freezer automatically set at 8, and the fridge at 42. Are these the normal temperature settings? Thank you for your help! -Frank

Check the cold for what you want but the ideal settings would be 5 for the freezer and 37 for the fridge
freezer can be really cold but the fridge if too cold will freeze vegetables and lettuce

SOURCE: RS 2545SH ICEMAKER

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahrenheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary. Also, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

If still the issue is not resolved then r
emove the ice bin and wires from the auger motor. With the freezer door open and the door switch depressed, push the ice cube release and check for 120VAC between the motor wires. If there is 120VAC then the motor has gone bad. If there is no 120VAC then the control board (module time delay) has to be replaced.

You would need to unsnap (use a flathead screwdriver in the 2 little slots underneath the bottom frame piece to unsnap it) the front dispenser frame. Then look at support bracket to see if the little plastic pins are not broken that hold ice and water dispenser switches in place.
If that looks ok, then you would need to use an ohm meter to test continuity in ice dispenser switch. Replace whichever is required.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

SOURCE: Samsung Cooltech SL-L551DP fridge Freezer.

Hello,

The answer to these questions lies in the way the freezer/fridge combo works. The freezer is where the cooling coils are located. Then air is moved over the coils and circulated through the fridge side by a small blower or fan. The problem arises when the air is not circulated for some reason.

The reasons the air is not moving is usually two reasons

  1. The fan or blower has failed.
  2. The coil is covered over with ice and blocks the air flow.

The first reason is pretty simple to fix, you simply replace the air circulator and things are good again.
The second reason can be more difficult.
1. The timing device that runs the defrost cycle of the refrigerator is defective.
2. The heater coil that melts the water is shorted or not working

Usually the first thing to check is the heater coil. If there is resistance through the coil then most likely it is still good.
The timing device can be an advanced defrost control board or a mechanical timing device.
If the heater coil checks out to be good then the problem should be the timer.

For most situations, unplugging the refrigerator and allowing it to defrost on it's own will get you going temporarily, till parts can be shipped to you. That will melt the ice and give you a few days or a couple of weeks till it ices up to the point where it will not work again.

So you can see here, the problem can usually be traced to one of three things.

  1. The fan or blower
  2. The timer device
  3. The electric heater coil
By methodically checking these parts you can isolate your problem and fix it.

Take care.

SOURCE: the thermostat says one temperature

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

Remove samsung icemaker

You really need to actually pose a question. Such as, "My Samsung fridge model# 1234 is not making ice, how do I repair it?" That being said, try to find your owners manual for the device. If it is not available, find the model number on the fridge. It can be on the back, inside, or behind the front grill. If you know where it was purchased, you can go there and ask a salesman to give you the model number.

Once armed with the model number, we can go to the manufacturers website and get part numbers for the parts in question. Also, we can find either written instruction on how to troubleshoot that model, or a Youtube video. Most ice makers can be repaired for less than $100.

You just need a model # ...

HI. I HAVE PURCHASED A SECOND HAND WESTINGHOUSE FRIDGE FREEZER. I WAS TOLD IT WAS MADE IN 1986. THE MODEL NO IS RS 615EA. CAN I FIND OR DOWNLOAD A MANUAL FOR THIS MODEL.

Hi, I can send you the service manual if you give me your email address. Unfortunately, I don't think you'll find the user manual for this model anywhere, unless someone has an old one lying around. The service manual has technical information and exploded views of fridge parts, wiring diagrams etc, and may be of some use. The service manual also includes other models, so you need to find your model in the service manual- it's about 57 pages long. Let me know if you want the service manual.

2005 Kawasaki Estrella-RS owners manual

Hi, Ian_sbriggs the vast majority of service, parts fiche, and owners manuals on the internet are "FREE" to download and all service manuals contain wiring diagrams in the back pages. The rest usually charge a modest fee of $15 and there is a handful of obscure, rare, obsolete, and very old models that are no longer or never were available and some were never printed in English. The Indian and Philippine markets are usually in E-book format only, for these rare occasions I shall look on eBay and find the cheapest one available. Most of the manuals will cover your exact make, model, and year otherwise one will be provided that comes as close as possible to your bike and will have most of the same info that an exact manual would have. If there is no $ sign after the manual link it is free to download.
