Question about OKI C5650n LED Laser Printer

Black printing blurry

The black prints blurry and very light on not at all This has happened a couple of times .. I would swap colors black/magenta .. print a test and then swap back and normally it would start working again. Now it is still blurry .. I have changed the toner and drum. Any ideas ? Thanks

SOURCE: OKI c5100 Printing GREY instead of BLACK.

Check density control in COLOUR MENU is set to auto and exucute auto density in same menu, clean the led heads on the lid.

In MAINTENENCE menu you can increase paper black setting (ie+2).

If any of your non gen Toner got mixed in the new black drum then this is the real issue.

If paper has moisture in it toner doesn't stick as well, run it threw twice (first time it dries out) to confirm it is not a moisture issue

SOURCE: TONER SENSOR ERROR

I have a C5100n printer that uses the same toner cartridges, etc. I have had this printer for over 5 years and it has held up quite well. Sometimes the LED sensor gets out of alignment and doesn't register the black toner correctly. The sensors are the bars that hang from the top cover. When it happens on my machine, I merely "gently" wobble the sensor back and forth with my finger and then close the lid. Generally that takes care of the problem for me. Hope this helps.

THIS SOLUTION IS FOR AN OKI C3400N ONLY

As I'm sure you know, that blinking amber light indicates that:

  1. A toner lock is not fully "locked", or
  2. A toner is empty, or
  3. A drum is empty or near empty
The first question should be what does your C3400 monitor software tell you is wrong? I am assuming it said the black toner and/or drum needed to be changed - so you are fairly certain it is the black that is where the problem is? You may also have run the report from the printer that you get by pressing the "On-line" button and seen what is failing.

Assuming that is the case, and one or both of these signals an empty black toner, the problem may be in the new black toner cartridge. You can try this:
  1. Make sure the toner "lock" on all toners is fully engaged - assuming they are

  1. Open the top
  2. Lift out the entire black assemble including the toner and drum components.
  3. Keeping the assembly in the same orientation as you lifted it out, look on the RIGHT end.
  4. You should see two metal contact points, near the top at about the same level as the top of the toner.
  5. Just below these contact, you should see a small, rectangular hole - about 1/4" square.
  6. If you look in there you may see what looks like a small piece of black plastic that covers the hole from inside.
  7. If so, take a small pointed object (like a bent paper-clip) and gently reach in the hole and touch the small plastic piece on the inside that is covering the hole.
  8. You should be able to gently lift that piece of plastic UP.
  9. You may have to try lifting it a time or two, but it should stay UP if you have a new black toner installed.
  10. Once you have it UP carefully reinstall the assembly.
  11. Close the top and let the printer recycle.
  12. You may need to try this a couple of times to get the plastic to stay up on your new toner.
So you understand, here is what may be happening. That little piece of black plastic actually sits in line with a sensor in the printer that monitors toner / drum levels. When a new toner is placed in, that piece of plastic should be UP, so the sensor can monitor the level. As the toner gets used, the plastic liece gradually falls down until it completely blocks the sensor - indicating the toner is empty. That is how the monitoring software knows how to signal you.

This has worked for me several times - most especially when I tried using non-OKI OEM 'compatible" toners - but no guarantees this will help you

Xerox 7655 the colour magenta is printing light


First, use the charge corotron cleaner a couple of times. If that doesn't improve it, then try swapping the magenta drum with the drum of another color and printing and see what happens. If the magenta is better, but the other color worse, you need to replace the drum. If it is not, you may need to change the charge corotron.

We use HP Color Laserjet CM1017; Magenta color is not printing

First run the CLEAN HEADS and see if that helps. If you don't use your printer at least once a week the Print Heads get dried out and will not allow the ink to pass through to the paper.
Go to control Panel and click on Printess. Then when the window comes up, CLICK on Properties TAB and then in the next window, CLICK on CLEANING.
You may have to replace your PRINT HEAD if that doesn't work.

Won't print black because magenta color is empty


Refill or replace the empty cartridge.

When you ask to print "black", a small amount of magenta is mixed-in.
No magenta, no print.

Faint repeating


I have problem with my Phaser 6130 Laser Printer, I changed toners (black, cyan, magenta yellow). My printer printing only cyan and magenta, colors black and red is very, very light. I cleaned my printer exactly. Everything is ok, but he does not has a black & magenta toners. What's happen? I don't know.

Very Faint Printouts


I find the best way to clean the heads is buy some cleaning cartridges as they have cleaning fluid in them and use them to clean it will take about 10 or more times to clean the heads then put the color ones back in and try again.
Just keep putting it on clean the head don't do a print out till at lest you have cleaned 10 or more times.

Black blocked by magenta


One ovbious option would be to have a friend print it out.
I assume that is not an option.

Some printers just won't let you print if a single color is out. Yes, stupid. Try printing a blank page. If it fails, there is no other option but to replace the cartridge or print elsewhere.
If the blank page test works, this next option/test is worth a try...
Depending on the app you are using, you can specify the color breakdown of the colors you are using. In your case, it is possible that the text is set to a rich black (4-color) rather than just black.
If that is the case, to test this most quickly, make a new file, and create a new black (black2), set to 100 black, 0% other colors.
Type a wor and set it to print in that color and try to print it.
If that works, apply the same technique to your real document.
Hope it works. I've been stuck in the same situation, and some printers will just not let you print if a single color is out.
