Hello, I seen a comment by BIG IRISH who said to replace 1000uf 16v 105c with 680uf 16v 105c that is why I asked the question, thank you electech 1.

The decision to change the capacitor from 1000uF to 68uF is based upon the repairs made by the Mitsubishi Service Center. This change alters the resonance of the power circuit leading to a capacitor failure (a common failure mode on all three boards with the clustered together within the control and input modules of the TV). In a sense, the capacitor is not stronger than a 1000uF capacitor, but this is not the reason Mitsubishi made the change.

No you cannot substitute a 680uf 16v 105c in place of a 1000uf
if you want to put a better capacitor in place of the old 1000uf 16v 105c , then use a 1000uf 25v or 35v 105c
the voltage rating will allow the cap to better handle the circuit

Good Day,
More than likey you have bad caps on DM Board.
It willcost about $450 to repair or you can do it yourself,.

On the DM PCB (part # 934C116002) check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 UFD, 16V, 105C), if any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V,
The DM PCB is on the left hand side of the TV when you take off the back cover.

Good Luck, BIG IRISH,.

The green timer lite is blinking and the tv will not turn on. It's a Mitsubishi Medallion we bought about 5 years ago. It has a 64 " screen from corner to corner. This didn't match any option I was given...

Good Day,
You have a couple of problems.

(LED does not stop blinking after plug in) Disconnecting the USB connector from the Card Reader did not help. Remove connector FC from the FMT PCB and plug the unit in, if the LED stops blinking after 70 seconds with FC removed suspect a problem on the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002), if the LED keeps blinking with connector FC removed suspect a problem on the DM PCB (part # 934C116002).

(LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the DM PCB (part # 934C116002) check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 UFD, 16V, 105C), if any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C). See Service Tip VS-78A

(LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002) check C8F19, C8F21, C8F22, and C8F27 (16V 1000 UFD 105C), if any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C). .

I would not attempt to do this on your own! Call an Autorized Service Center, it wikll cost at least $ 750.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Good question, but I'm not THE FAMOUS "TECHMAN" but I will try to help anyway. The DM board is normanlly on the left side TV looking from the back. It has a shield around it, remove. The caps are big and black, they look the replacements(only ones on board). Here's what says about this issue:

It is not an easy job, it will take some time but since you have it apart there is another problem that will accure so might as well do this too:
Tile or block pattern with no video or OSD. Check D8F00 and D8F01 part # 264P828010, also check C8F26 and C8F29 part # 141P148000 (1 uFD, 25 V) on the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002).
All the parts have location numbers like C8F29 that will tell you what and where these parts are.
Good luck, big IRISH. PS; I hope this helpful.
