Hello I am looking for a repair manual for 1978 gmc manual.

Depending on how in-depth you want, there are a couple of choices.
Haynes is a good manual and I have several of them.
Haynes at $25 for less in-depth stuff. Still a good manual

or a Factory manual which shows every nut/bolt/procedure that a factory tech would have access to at $99.

I am looking for a Quantum Fireball 20.5 GB hard

The board alone is not available for sale. To recover the data you will need to buy a 20GB Fireball with same board and swap the control board.

You can buy a 20.GB Fireballl QMP20000AS-A from links below:

QUANTUM QMP20000AS-A - Buy Now at Cuetech, Inc.

Hard drives

If you set it to CS and then plug it into the second connector it should be on the slave. The end one is always master. Sometimes you just have to do a trial and error deal. Go into your bios and set your hard drive dectection to auto and on your bootup screen it should show the drives. Even in the bios once it is connected right the bios will tell you where it is recognized at. If all else fails, go to www.maxtor.com and look for your model hard drive and see what the settings are there.
