I have a champion generator model 41552 and when I plug the power cord for 240 volt it trips to breaker on machine

If your voltmeter is registering the 240v prior putting in the twist-lock plug then your have a crossed wire plug or there is a problem with the load.

If not reading the correct voltage then you have problem with the generator's alternator. Example bad regulator or a shorted main winding.

My champion generator model #46596 will run but won't give electric

All breakers OK? Then it could be lost exciter current. Her's how to restore it - Connect 16 or 18 gauge wires to a 12 volt battery. With the generator running, insert bare wire ends into the AC outlet - one wire to Hot, the other to Neutral. Insert and remove quickly - there should be a flash and power will be restored. If not, repeat until you get that flash. If you are too slow to remove the wires from the outlet after current is restore, the light gauge wire should burn out before the battery suffers damage. Be quick - be careful.

Low current. Will hardly drive a sander or lights. Voltage guages says 120V. Unit is 3 years old but has maybe 10 hours of use max

I found this at http://www.championpowerequipment.com/tech-bulletins/
AVR Voltage Adjustment

This bulletin covers the following Champion Power Equipment models:

C46535 C41150 C41365

C46540 C41155 C75520E

C49055 C41255 C71350E

Note: Read instructions completely before performing service.

1. On the end of the generator locate the round yellow cover held on by two 7mm bolts.

Remove the two bolts and the yellow cover will come right off.

2. At approximately 7 o'clock you'll see a kidney shaped electrical component called the AVR,

which is held on by two 7mm bolts. Remove the two bolts but do not disconnect the wiring

and turn the AVR over so you can see the backside. You should see a round part coming off

the AVR, this is the capacitor. You should also see a small rectangular box with a jewelers

screw, this is your voltage adjustment screw.

3. With a flat head screw driver turn the jewelers screw counter clockwise and this will lower

the voltage. As the screw is turned back watch the volt meter to see adjustment, the

generator must be running to do this.

4. Adjust the screw until the meter reads 250 volts. On model C46540 when the toggle switch

is turned to the 120 side the volt meter should read around 130 volts. Optimum voltage is

121.8 volts.

5. If voltage does not decrease or does not hold a steady output please contact Champion at

877-338-0999 for a new AVR.

First start small Check to see if there is any clogs in the line also check the fuel filter if the pump is broken go to google and type the model number in and that should bring up everything about that and possibly help you find parts for it

I have a Hobart Champion 10,000 welder generator. It runs but I am getting no juice out of it. Won't weld or put out power to run anything.

measure ouput on ALL available sockets - anything?
Take cover off electric motor-generator, visually inspect windings.
Measure continuity of all stator windings (2 or 3 points usually)
Measure continuity of stator thru brushset.
If all measures ok - has to be AVR module.

There is no mistery in generator - just stator to induce and rotor to obtain voltage.
