Are you getting error related to incompatible ink or Ink cartridge defective and this is Genuine cartridge purchased, then check for the Expiry date on the cartridge and call HP support to get assistance.

If the cartridge is defective and if the cartridge is still in warranty, You can probably expect to get a replacement cartridge without charges.

SOURCE: I installed a refilled HP 94 cartridge in my HP

This is a firmware issue with this printer model, and is fairly common. Try the following: remove both of the print cartridges, close the lid, wait for any noises to stop, and pull the power plug out of the back of the printer while it is still on. Wait at least 10 minutes with the cord disconnected. Plug the power back into the printer, wait for the noises to stop, and then reinstall the cartridges, black first (very important), and then the color. This will force the printer to reload its ram memory and should take care of the glitch. Let me know if you need further assistance, as I would like to be sure your problem is fixed.

I have loaded a new Lexmark black cartridge , after using a coloured one and the massage says "incorrect cartridge, or something like that, what do I do to make it work.

These printers can use a B&W cartridge and a color cartridge, or two color cartridges for enhanced color. I believe when you switch these it is supposed to detect automatically and change it in the driver settings. If it isn't the case for what ever reasonhowever, you should still be able to set it manually in the printer properties. If this fails, just try turning off the printer, unplugging the printer and moving it to another USB port, and turning it back on. Maybe you need to kick start the detection process.

Cartridge is not intended for use in this printer

Under the setup menu, then under preferences, there's an item where you can change the language & country. I don't know if that will have any affect on the cartridge selection though.
