Make sure you prime the rubber first.....ask the manufacturer (website), or local paint store manager.
Good luck

I painted the roof (rubber base) on my car with paint from the auto parts store. Look for paint for a vinyl car roof.
Should work on a shoe sole equally well

How to use car rim paint?

1. Clean the hub with Latop Wheel Cleaner.
2. Cover the air ****, brake and the tire.
3. Shake the can before spraying, but avoid shaking during the spraying process. Keep 10-15 cm of distance.
4. Spray rubberized paint for the second time after 5 minutes. You are suggested to spray for 4-5 layers. Move the shade and you've finished it. Rubber Paint Spray Peelable Multi purpose Custom Rim Paint

Tip

Generic, All Around Useful Painting Tips...

When faced with an expensive Paintbrush with dried paint, don't toss it, Save It...
  • Soak it overnight - Starting out with very warm Vinegar.
Now so it doesn't happen again...
  • Clean well, Place it into proper sized Ziplock Bag & then put into a Pringles, or Coffee can, Then cap it with the plastic Lid.
When storing a partially used can of paint, instead of just putting the lid on it,
  • place a sheet of plastic sheeting like Saran Wrap over the top, then press the lid on.
Instead of using the edge of the can to remove excess paint,
  • find a large thick Rubber Band, or Tie a wire or Twine over the top and bottom, exposing it over the middle of the opened can. Now just use that to remove excess paint & it will fall directly into middle of can and keeps can clean.
If your painted project appears a little rough after painting...
  • Don't use sandpaper or steel wool to remove roughness, that will leave scratch marks, even if gone over lightly, instead use Brown Paper Bag.
If going to apply new coat or 1st coat over metal,
  • wipe down really well with Vinegar. This will help keep paint from bubbling, chipping, blistering or peeling away.
To keep paint brush marks from being noticeable, especially on furniture or cabinetry, or Doors,
  • Use a product called Flotrol. This will eliminate streak and brush marks.
And one more tip
When needing to know what type of paint is on your project that you want to repaint...
  • Pour some Vinegar on a cotton ball, then rub on the paint. If cotton ball has paint on it, it is Latex, Not Oil based.
Happy Painting

How to paint a rubber sole?

Painting the rubber soles of your shoe is an easy way to personalize them. However, you cannot use just any paint. The sole of your shoe comes into contact with surfaces every time you use it. The constant friction your rubber soles go through can be harsh enough to crack your paint. A durable option is painting your rubber soles with tire paint. Tire paint is made for rubber tires and is durable. In addition, tire paint comes in a variety of colors.

Is there something I can buy that helps me get excess paint off the brush before I use it?

I just learned a really cool trick that doesn't cost you anything. Just take a large rubber band and wrap it from the bottom to the top of your paint can, going across the opening. Then you can scrape your brush on it after dipping so all the excess paint will fall right back in to the can.

I have a huge problem with my wash mach of mold build up on the rubber and smelly clothing as a result

If You Can't Remove The Rubber To Clean It. Get Bleach, Simple Green Or Ajax. Get A Paint Brush, Dip It Into Any Of The Cleaning Agents And Brush It On The Rubber. If You Don't Have A Paint Brush Use And Old Toothbrush. Now Start Scrubbing The Mold Of. Use Warm Water :o)

How do i take off all of the paint off of my bikes frame

First, completely disassemble everything from the frame. You can leave the front fork attached, but it will be better removed. Use a paint remover (available at hardware or paint store), follow directions. Use steel wool and rubber gloves. A scraper won't do much good. Good luck!
