    Hello Terraknowles,
I would like to know few points that are as follows:

    1. When you connect your camera to the computer's USB port, does the computer recognize that a device has been connected? generally there is a balloon that pops up in system trey indicating that the computer has found a new device and would try to install it.

    2. What is the Operating system on your computer? (Like windows 98, windows XP, windows Vista..)

    3. Do you use any other USB devices on your computer and if they work fine?

    4. When you connect your camera to the computer... right click on "my computer" and go to properties --> Hardware tab --> Device manager ... under device manager scroll to the bottom where it says USB .. Click on + next to it and see if there are any red X marks or exclamations (!) under USB .. if there are then right click on them and select "Uninstall" .. it might prompt you for being sure you want to delete .. select Yes. Now disconnect the camera and reconnect it back .. the computer would try to reinstall the camera and this time you should have a new drive letter under your "My computer"
Let me know if that works or provide the information requested above.
    All the best..

    Regards,
    Srinivas

Your camera came with a CD which has the drivers, manual and other software. Here are the steps to install your dirvers and view copy your pictures to your PC
1- Insert your CD and install the drivers.
2- After drivers are installed connect your camera to the USB port and turn the camera on. Your PC will install the drivers.
3- After id is finished, click start, then computer. You should see Sanyo..... along with c: drive etc..

Now you can copy, add, delete, and view pictures stored in your camera by using your computer.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

My sanyo S870 digital camera won't show up on computer

It could be the batteries, it could be the cord, or it could be one of a dozen other things.
Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I want to transfer pictures from my nikon coolpix p2 to my computer, the problem is i have misplaced my cameras cord and i do not wish to transfer images by wi-fi, how can i do the same.

You should be able to take the memory card out of the camera and insert it in the computer in a card reader slot. If your computer does not have these card slots you can get a card reader at a computer store and hook it up with a USB cord. try someone like radio shack to see if you can get a new cord for your camera, they have many different types and adapters to chose from.

Cant upload the pitures from sd card with out usb cord

Yes you cannot transfer pictures without the USB cable since that is working like the 'bridge' for your camera and computer communication.

However, there is still another way on how you can get the pictures. That is to use a memory card reader. Most laptops now has that particular slot. Or you can buy a cheap memory card on the nearest PC store.

What do you have against card readers? They work 99% of the time versus 75% for cameras and usb cords.

CAN I DOWNLOAD MY PICTURES WITHOUT USB CORD AND JUST WITH A MEMORY CARD ?

Yes, if your computer has an SD card slot. Most newer desktops and nearly all laptops do. Your camera also has 16 mb of internal memory though. You won't be able to pull them off without the USB cord. The cord you need is cheap enough though. You can probably to to a local Goodwill store and pick through the boxes of cables and wires and computer stuff that has been donated and find one for very little.

I cannot transfer videos to my computer with my Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG6

After the USB cord is connected, a menu will popup on the camera. The camera needs to be told you want to transfer files with the usb rather than use the camera as a webcam for example.

Selecting USB Connection / Card Reader on the camera should allow you to access your files on the camera.

You could try removing the memory card from the camera and using an external usb card reader on it.
