Unlock cursor for acer laptop

Your laptop comes with a touch pad that acts as a mouse. Instead of connecting a mouse each time you want to use your laptop, you can use the touch pad that is integrated underneath the keyboard. This comes in handy when you are in a tight spot such as in a classroom or on an airplane. At times, you may need to unlock the laptop touch pad because someone who borrowed your laptop disabled it. It may also be locked due to a slight malfunction that you can easily fix by enabling the touch pad in your computer settings.
Click the Windows "Start" button in the bottom-left corner of your desktop. Scroll up and click "Control Panel." Choose the "Mouse" icon or type "Mouse" in the field in the upper-right corner. Click the "Enter" button and then click the "Mouse" link. Press the "Hardware" tab or the tab to the right of it that specifies the type of touch pad you have. If you are under the "Hardware" tab, highlight the touch pad in the list of devices and click the "Enable" button. If you are under the touch pad tab, click the enable button. Click the "Apply" button and then click the "OK" button. Hope this helps.

IS THERE ANY WAY TO LOOSEN THE POINT STICK SO IT WILL MOVE MORE FREELY

Why does it not have a touchpad? Maybe the touchpad driver is not installed or the touchpad has been disabled or is toggled off.

First off, you can always use a usb mouse instead of the point stick.

Click Start/Control Panel and look for the Mouse and open it to check the mouse properties. Make sure you don't have the touchpad disabled.

Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad on or off by clicking on the button that is located at the top of the touch pad in the middle.

Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad by tapping twice in the upper left hand corner of the touchpad.

Some models will require a keystroke to toggle the touchpad. Press and Hold the ALT or FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard, then hit the key that toggles the touchpad. The correct key to hit will have the icon of a finger pointing at a square that represents the touchpad.

Try downloading and installing the touchpad driver.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "IBM Support" or "Lenovo Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Touchpad drivers.

How to unlock a mouse on a laptop

On the top of your keyboard there should be F keys like F1,F2 etc.
Every F key has a little picture. When you see a touchpad picture press Fn+F5. According to my Laptop. For example if your touchpad picture is at F6 then you would press Fn+F6.The Fn key should be located near the ctrl keys. If this does not work then try the following steps:-

1 Click the Windows "Start" button in the bottom-left corner of your desktop. Scroll up and click "Control Panel."

2 Choose the "Mouse" icon or type "Mouse" in the field in the upper-right corner. Click the "Enter" button and then click the "Mouse" link.

3 Press the "Hardware" tab or the tab to the right of it that specifies the type of touch pad you have. If you are under the "Hardware" tab, highlight the touch pad in the list of devices and click the "Enable" button. If you are under the touch pad tab, click the enable button.

4 Click the "Apply" button and then click the "OK" button.

Where is cusor/mouse button

The Touchpad controls the cursor and mouse button. Try clicking Start/Control Panel and look for the mouse or touchpad. Look inside and maybe set the settings back to Default.

Maybe you need to download and reinstall the touchpad drivers.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HPSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Touchpad drivers.Make sure you didn't put the touchpad on of by clicking the button that is located at the top of the touchpad in the middle. Also on some models, if you tap twice in the upper left hand corner of the touchpad, it will toggle the touchpad to on or off. There are keystrokes on some models that toggle the touchpad on or off. They require you to Press and Hold the FN or ALT key then hit the correct key that toggles the touchpad. Usually the correct key will have the icon of a finger pointing at a square that represents the touch pad.

Can't right or left click on inspirion 1501, touchpad is fine.

It would appear that the left/right touch pad buttons have failed. You will have 3 options at this point in time.
1) Use an external wireless mouse such as a Logitech Wireless Mouse M505 for roughly $39.99
2) Use alternative features on the laptop. Left click is typically simulated by tapping or double tapping the touch pad itself and right click can be simulated, in most cases, by single tapping the icon and pressing the pop-up menu button, typically located between the right alt and ctrl buttons.
3) Search for a replacement component online and replace the component. Touch pad replacement will require you to remove all casing screws from the laptop and then remove the case. You will then expose the screws and cabling for the touch pad. I can not give more detailed instructions as this varies per laptop model.

My mouse pad cursor do move but it doest whant to enter if i tab on it

some touch pads have a setting that must be set to allow a tap to be interpreted as a click. Go to Start-->control panel-->mouse, and look for a setting that tells the touch pad to allow it to sense clicks on the touch pad instead of requiring a button to be pressed. If not, try updating your touch pad driver. Start, right click on computer, click on Manage, when computer management window opens, click on the device manager in the left pane. Find mice and other pointing devices in the middle pane, and click the small triangle to the left of it, to expand it. Find the one under there that stands for your touch pad, and right-click on it, and click "Update Driver software." make sure you are connected to the internet first, and let it connect to Windows Update to see if it can find a newer driver.

Lenovo laptop touch pad or mouse

  1. Download the latest touch-pad drivers from Lenovo's website.
  2. If you have the drivers and utility installed, you should have an icon on the bottom right of the taskbar (may need to hit the arrow to expand.) If you open up that utility there should be an option for "Tapping" which is where tapping the mouse bad will mimic a mouse click. Try disabling that.
  3. Make sure you aren't bumping the pad with your wrist when you are typing on the keyboard.
