First run a fault code test at the diagnostic link under the dash on drivers side and see if any fault codes are in memory, if nothing shows then test the fuel pressure, the test port is in the fuel supply pipe that sits over the fuel injectors on the top of the engine, looks like a large tire valve. You will need a special tool, borrow one from a local auto parts store like Autozone.

that problem very likely is the control board. there is another brand of fridge in S.AFRICA THAT DOES THE EXACT THING OF WHICH THE BOARD HAS TO BE CHANGED.

I would strongly advise seeking a competent fridge guy. If it is the compressor (which sounds like a distinct possibility) they should be able to identify it very quickly. They would then be able to give you a cost on replacement. Alternatively you could try throwing it back at where you got it from and see if there is an extended parts only warranty. Some manufacturers now have three or even five years warranty on major components (ie compressors). Although there is no guarantee of this, its always worth a try, you might get someone sympathetic to your plight, due to the young age of the cabinet. Hope this is of some if not limited use.

SOURCE: Not Cooling and has burning smell

If you are looking for help, one must explain the problem in detail, described properly, for one one the internet to review. For myself, a would require more details of your refrig, to properly explain a resolution. Otherwise a general answer is not worth much. If you have the fully electronic temperature controlled unit, then the components can be easily chedked in 5 minutes, by the on-board service diagnostic computer. One needs to know the general operating knowledge fo the refrig, which is naturally available, since you operated it for some years. Anyway, a layman can check it out by doing what is natural. Since the refrig defrosted, it has shut down. Four years is too short for genral compressor defects. Put the power plug in and check for operating sounds. Just a few seconds. You mentioned smell (outside or inside), ket a paper tube, like a paper towel center, and sniff the evaporator motor, then the condenser motor. I will recheck later, and see if you want to continue, this troubleshooting. Regards fmauka

I have a 1999 yukon it cranks up and runs but just shuts off while driving but cranks back up and sometimes i can drive it all day no problem next morning shuts off on me twice but starts again and I can...

That could be a number of things. A mechanic would have to keep the vehicle until the problem came up again to diagnose it.
But when I would have a vehicle that did what you described, one of the more common things I have found is that the vehicle had an alarm and the alarm was faulty. The alarm would not even have to be used. Just being intergrated into the system was enough for it to cause this type of issue.

Is the service engine light on? If so, take it to an auto part store and most will hook up a code reader for free.
Also may not hurt to have the ignition module tested. Around here, Auto Zones have a machine that does it. Its a free service they provide.

My 2007 GMC Yukon will not start in cold weather. When I turn the key over the lights/dash controls come on, but the engine does not turn over at all. Nothing. Put a new battery in and still does it. It is a random occurance. Would not start for two days this week so I had it towed to the dealership and the next morning it starts without the service dept doing anything??? Bring it home and two days later it does it again??? Any ideas?

That would be the cheapest thing to check first. I'd check and see if the catalytic converter is trying to clog up.
