How do I empty and reset the waste toner box WT-220CL in a Brother Printer MFC-9340CDW

On most color machines emptying the waste toner cartridge isn't an issue because the auger system dumps it into the waste toner. The brother machines before this a different way and have a cleaning blade in them. This blade wears out over time and needs to be replaced. Those waste toners last forever in that machine so your better off just replacing it. Other wise you probably are going to make a huge mess just to have problems once you get it back together.

Paper starts to feed then stops after feeding about 2 inches

Drum is on an internal counter in the printer, so it will work fine on another printer. If the print quality is fine, then you can fool the machine into 'thinking' you replaced it. The instructions are here:

Changing Drum

The drum is where the image is applied before being transfer to the paper. If the drum is wearing down the image will become poor. Changing the drum unit will make the image like new. So, yes you can run the drum catridge until you get a poor print out.
