Question about Hitachi 42HDS69 42 in. Plasma Television
My tv is getting hot to the touch. Is there a fire hazzard?

I've owned a 42HDX99 since 2007, It's always been warm/hot. Still works/looks Awesome. Plasmas do generally run hotter than
LCD/LED's. Also have a 58" Samsung Plasma ( which I've had to repair ) and a 2009 Toshiba 1080P LCD ( still works great )

your Guru didnt even know this set is a plasma, look for the main filters on the power supply, the big ones to see if the tops of them are crowned these new sets are very particular when it comes to filtering.

many times this standby/power light blinks at one time switch ON? Count it carefully. These blinks are fault indication, and known
as blinking codes. From the number of
blinks occur at one time switch ON; you can get an idea about the faulty
circuit stage inside the TV. This will
make repair easy. For more information, check the link http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
