Hi when I replaced the belt on a T721 I opened the back and went in from there. Lay the dryer on the front and remove back screws. Take pictures of all wiring and all assembled. Replace belt and idlers. Note its tight in there and you will need to remove the back fan and housing. I removed the entire from and cleaned everything when doing the change.

I need to replace the belt on an Asko 712 Dryer. I have not been able to locate any video's or schematics. I've taken the top off. Now what? Which panels need removed? Do I remove the control panel?

Go to www.repairclinic.com and enter 712. With luck, you will be presented with a list of common replacement parts/assemblies and may be able to view a generic Asko video showing disassembly.

I just replaced the belt on my t721 dryer and a bunch of the wires came off of the relays where can I get a wiring schematic for this machine

Look on the back panel of the unit - not uncommon for a schematic to be there. If not, go to appliancepartspros.com for parts/schematics.

How to replace drive belt

Unplug it from the electrical outlet.
Remove the back panel.
Look for the "idler-wheel" -- it takes-up the "slack" between the drive-motor and the rotating tumbler.
Loosen it, to put enough "slack" in the drive-belt that the drive-belt can be removed.
Take the belt to a dryer-service store, and get them to match it.
Connect the new belt to the drive-motor and the tumbler.
Adjust the "idler-wheel" to take-up the slack.
Replace the back-panel.
Add power.

Asko T721 dryer. Support rollers started to fall to bits (dryer making bumping sound as it rotated) so I bought a new set and replaced them. Not a single electrical connection was removed bar the door...

  • If you took the drum out and took the belt off you may have put the belt on wrong as there is a switch under the drive or idler pulley that must be pushed on from the pressure of the belt on the pulley. Also go and make sure both breakers are ok in the breaker box as it runs on a 220 volt sys. and if one is tripped this type of thing can occur.
  • Good luck and please rate me if this helped! thanks again for choosing fixya

Overheat trips Asko T721 dryer

If you have a condensate tank that fills up too much the float inside the pump housing will shut the dryer off also.
