Question about Health & Beauty
They can take up to 16 hours to charge from low. If the battery is too low i.e. below 10 volts this charger you are using may not be able to coupe to charge it up. Have the battery load tested if it is old as it may have seen better days.
Check the output of the charger while on the battery for volts and current.

Hi. What size batteries you buy will be limited to the amount of room you have in the machine.
17 amp hour batteries are really a bit small for any mobility equipement. A lot of power chairs have 35 or 40 amp/hour batteries.
Buy the biggest that will fit into the available space.
Batteries are designed to perform a certain number of "charge cycles". If you run your batteries down by 75%, you will only get a small number of "charge cycles". If you only use 25% of the batteries capacity, you will get 100's of "charge cycles".
The best I have seen is 7 years out of a set of batteries. Short trips and recharging after each trip is the reason.
Good luck. Neil.

Absolutely. Let me explain what "Ah" means. "Ah" stands for Amp Hours. A 32ah battery will run a 1 amp motor for 32 hours...or a 32 amp motor for one hour...a 16 amp motor for two hours etc.. As long as the battery voltage is the same it's absolutely fine. As long as your chargers are the correct voltage, they'll be fine as well. So basically, the higher the "Ah", the longer the battery will last. This is why higher "Ah" batteries are more expensive. Hope this helps : )
