Canon pixma mp272 printer. replaced black cartridge for the first time and now it wont print. getting error p08 on the printer and error 5200 on my laptop screen

Hello Hellen,
the error P08 is error for abnormal temperature in print head. Aa possible cause the ink cartridge is faulty and needs to be replaced. The same error description is for 5200 on your PC.

I recommend that you try to replace ink cartrigde under warranty in store where you bought it. If after that you still have error, take the printer to the service center because they logic board ( pcb ) is faulty.

Hope that helps!

Error code 5200 represent print head or cartridge temperature exceed specified value. It may be caused by the following condition: ink empty or usage of refill ink.
Please check which cartridge indicated by this error and replace it with new one. For Canon Pixma iP2770, this problem frequently caused by an empty CL811. Please refer to Canon Pixma iP2770 Service Manual for details.

Error 5200 shows when trying to print. Not listed in the user manual.

I found a few answers http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/canon/bj/s400.htm

error 5200 indicates print head overheating. You might try printing 1/3 of document, pausing for cooling then print second 1/3, pausing for cooling then print final 1/3 as a work around.

Looks like thr repair cost is more than a brand new Multifunction printer/scanner

Service error 5200 canon mp240

Sir,
Error 5200 indicated an error with the print head. Try to cleaning all contacts on the print head as well as on the connecting pad. And also the power needs to be restated, so do it and try it again, just take out the USB, the power from the wall outlet and the USB in the printer itself.
Thanks Good Luck
