Unfortunately I have tried already and the company does not supply that part and truly wasn't helpful at all but they were nice and left me with the option of buying a new one :-((

I have a WWM450PC Waring waffle maker and it has melted at the top at the cord post

You can cut the wall plug end off and buy a new plug end at Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc. Just need an electrical wire cutter to cut it and remove the outer rubber on the wires inside the cord, along with a small flat-end screwdriver to tighten the 2 screws onto the wires. Very cheap fix and it's very easy to do.

Fix the thermal fuse

Teresa:
It's a thermal fuse, (in this case it's a thermistor) and like any other fuse that has blown, it needs to be replaced. (The thermistor doesn't cost much... a few dollars at the most.) To replace the thermistor, the bottom of the waffle iron will have to be removed, and the thermistor de-soldered from the wiring (make sure that you note which way the thermistor connects to the wiring... you don't want to solder the new thermistor backwards!). Take the thermistor to an electronics shop and buy another identical thermistor. Solder the new thermistor to the wiring the same way the old thermistor came out. Reassemble the waffle iron, and don't leave the waffle iron on when you're not making waffles!

Diagram to replace thermal fuse in wmk 300 waring pro

The most common reason for thermal fuse failure is running the iron with the top open, especially when set to a higher number (longer cycle time) and/or not flipping the iron over at the strart of a cycle.

Keep it closed except during the 10-15 seconds needed when adding the batter or removing a waffle.

Thermal fuse 240C often available on ebay 4/$2 or Amazon 10/$7-$10

Our waffler has a short. It's happened before. It is the famed Waring Waffle maker Pro 300. It was repaired once before, and then today it happened again. What's up with these? Thank you.

just fixed mine with info found on hear. If you're a little handy or have someone who is it's a simple fix. Under bottom plate a thermal fuse is connected in black wire under white insulation. I picked one up at radio shack2_bing.gif (http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=thermal%20fuse&origkw=thermal%20fuse&sr=1) got the 228 dgree C. I **** insulation and removed. I then cut black wire at connection at each side. I then placed new fuse in line and crimped small connectors on each side. Placed insulation back on and taped up. Screwed back together and it worked fine. Fuse cost $1.69. To think I almost tossed it.

Will not heat.

There is a thermal fuse inside the bottom half of the unit, enclosed in a white insulating sleeve. This appears to be the weak part of the circuit. A replacement can be found here on Amazon.com.

I posted the same problem (no heat) but may have found the answer. There is a component that cuts off the power if the unit gets too hot. My best guess name for it would be a "thermal fuse". If it goes...no heat. (located behind one the waffle grids inside unit..silver and black)(behind the other grid is what I believe to be a variable resistor that varies with heat..used to set heat levels in conjunction with the dial on the front of waffle maker)
When thermal fuse goes it needs to be replaced. BUT I WONDER
what caused the overheating? I will go down to Radio Shack and buy the "thermal fuse" according to the data on the old "fuse" and put it in...then ????waffles or sparks???
the old fuse has printed on it: sheng ping SPF240 TF240 Deg. Celsius 10 amps 250volts 073 and some symbols
Wish me luck

Just spray the grids before each use with something like Pam, or put a thin coat of oil on them. I found it's better to spray before each waffle so it won't stick.
