Question about Avanquest Computers & Internet

Open Question

I purchased avanquest database pro but now it's not available anymore and I have hundreds of files in their DatabasePro.

I need to open it since I've changed pc and lost the license key which was on the original manual when I moved to a new office.

SOURCE: Change Computer and want to move Microsoft Office License

If this is an OEM copy of office, it is non-transferable, and has to stay with that particular hardware. If it's not OEM, then you should be able to just install on the new PC, and if the software will not let you activate online, you'll have to call the Microsoft number given during activation to have it activated.

Access generates individual files which are the complete database, the interface and control program.

Simply deleting this file will destroy the database. the extensions for Microsoft Access Database files are:

*.ACCDB (Access database 2010 - current)

How do I rebuild the outlook 2011 for mac email database?

Hi Scott
I am a Mac User also.
Ran my own Mac repair business for 18 years...
I remember this particular problem with Entourage/Outlook for Mac
I stopped using Outlook & Office years ago because it goes corrupt when too many emails are stored in the email data file. About the 1gb file size. A well known problem. I use Apple Mail these days. Note..It will Import emails from Entourage.
All this data is kept in the Microsoft User Data folder inside Documents Folder... if my memory is correct.
Make a backup copy of this folder if you can... before fiddling.
I used a Microsoft Utility Program called "Microsoft Database Utility" to fix and clean up the Email data file. Then Entourage opened up the email again and I got rid of excessive emails containing photos.
I don't even have MS Office installed on this Mac any more but I have located "Microsoft Database Utility" program which is about 2.3mb in size. It's probably inside your MS Office / Office folder already. Use Apple Spotlight to search or... a free program called EasyFind works great.
Open the program and point it to the Microsoft User Data folder where Entourage email data file is located. To locate the actual email data file...Use "Cmd I" to find size of suspect file. The email data file is a Fairly big one.
I am using a 2007 MacBook Pro running OSX 10.9 Maverics with the free "Pages" for reading Word Doc's & "Numbers" for Excel SS and it all works seamlessly. Dont have a need or want to pay for MS Office anymore as it never got many updates anyhow.

Hope this Fixes your Problem
Cheers
Trevor

On Side Subject.... Depending on age of your Mac...You can get Maverics OSX10.9 for free. Download the flu .DMG file. Use CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner from Bombich Software) to do a full Clone Backup of your current Mac HD to another external hard drive before installing new clean OSX 10.9 system then you get asked to Migrate your old system data back and you end up with a new Mac and all your data in place. Get free "MacTracker" to get your specific Mac Specs & what max OS it will go up to.

Need to open a BAk file without erasing new data

You need to restore the .bak file using a different database name. Example: If current database is cresql, restore the .bak file as cresqlold. Then you need to tell RPE to switch to this database. This gets tricky and is best left to experienced tech. If you want my help, send me an email to: sysadmin@ccybernet.com

Is database professional compatible with windows 7?

That partly depends on which version of windows 7 you have.

ultimate has the ability to run native XP applications.

I have also had great success running native XP apps on lower versions despite Microsoft saying it is not possible.

Your best option is to try it anyway. office pro was not supposed to run on windows 7 but even the lower versions run it just fine.

Also check the avanquest web site for any support issues with regards that particular software as any work around will be published in he support section on there.

Error 3343 when I start PC Charge, how can I fix this?

error 3343 is a database error. Unfortunately, PCCharge is still in the stone-ages of computer technology and they think VB6.0 and MS Access 2.0 are stable and secure ... At any rate. 3343 is simply an unrecognizable database, in this case due to corruption. There is a program in the PCCharge directory called VisData. This will allow you to run a repair and compact the database. To use:
First make a backup of your PCCW.MDB database in your PCCharge directory (C:\Program Files\Active-Charge (PaymentServer); C:\Program
Files\PCCW (PRO)).

Execute VISDATA.exe.
File -> Repair MDB.
Select the PCCW.MDB database from your PCCharge directory.
Select 'No" to open Repaired Database.
File -> Compact MDB ... 2.0 MDB
Again, Select the PCCW.MDB
It will then prompt for what you want the database to be named. Simply select PCCW.MDB again, select 'YES' to replace existing database.
Select 'NO' to encrypt database.
Select 'NO' to Open Compacted database
Exit Visdata and start PCCharge.

It would also be a good idea to go ahead and update to the latest available Scripting Runtime library. This can be found by going to microsoft.com and searching for the phrase 'windows script'. (To my knowledge, 5.7 is the latest version).

Getting error # 3022

Hi Julie,
You shouldn't really be using that version anymore for several reasons. However, since I don't work there anymore, and I'm sure you have your reasons for sticking with it ...

There is a way to purge the transactions, although Tech support will tell you that it is not recommended (not to mention, there's nobody there anymore that was around when 4.x was out.). If you're just wanting to clear out the old files and start new so that your database is smaller, there is a rather simple solution. If you still have your original pccharge setup cd, there is a blank database on the cd. Make sure all current batches are settled. Rename the current database to something that will make sense (perhaps with a date of the last transactions in the database). After that database has been renamed, you can copy the blank PCCW.MDB from the cd to your PCCharge directory. Once the database has been copied, right-click on the database to make sure that it didn't get marked as read-only during the copy & paste. This will start your transactions from a fresh database. Your history will no longer be available from the software however. (If you really need that history you can temporarily rename the old database back long enough to pull the history and then switch back to the new one). After this, start up pccharge and go to setup numbers and synchronize numbers with troutd. You should be good to go after this.

"My Invoices & Estmates Deluxe" - Repair corrupt '.inv' invoice file

When the program prompts, then creates a backup file for a database, it has a .bak suffix (not amazing). However it also creates a folder in the 'Safe' folder under c:\program files\estimates... All I had to do was locate the most recent version of the db files in the Safe, copy the folder to the c:\documents and settings\...\Invoices directory, and the most recent uncorrupted database was readily available for File Open. Voila.
