SOURCE: I cannot open the front of the utility knife to

I was able to find the answer on another site. It is really simple when someone tells it to you. You push the blade all the way out then you can push the yellow button and it comes out.

SOURCE: How do you load a new blade?

At the back end of the knive (the curved end) press the black piece through the yellow rounded part and the yellow front and the black back will part, now slide the yellow part back to reviel the blade folder. Fit new blade then refit the yellow part on top of the black part and slide the yellow part foward to lock it back in.

SOURCE: stanley 10-788 how to change blade

Push the top metal button all the way foward as if pushing the blade out to it's (farthest) 3rd setting. Then push foward and down one more time which locks the mechanism down. Push and hold the yellow side button as you insert the blade. When the blade locks in all you have to do is release the yellow button and return the top slide to it is fully retracted home. The blade is loaded

I disassembled the Stanley 10 - 788 utility knife completely how do I put it back together

This utility knife reassemblies similar to the original. The only difference is this model uses two screws and that plastic insert. You will align the two metal halves and bring them together. Use care that the blade does not fall out of its holder and the little black plastic piece stays in place, near the blade. This may take a few tries. after you bring the two halves together you will carefully separate the bottom end (farthest from blade). Separate it just enough to slide the plastic insert into position. Once the three pieces align you will know. With little effort the two metal halves will close together. Install the two set screws and test for proper function. I'm including a Youtube video that shows how to properly change the blade and what it will look like after it is reassembled.

How to change the blade on a new model Kobalt fixed blade utility knife

It literally splits in half. Find the tabs to pull it apart- and you may find spares in the base

How do I change the blades in a Benchmark Utility Knife that has a rubber grip and there is no screw to get it apart.

The knife does not come apart. Push the top button (blade) all the way forward and keep pushing forward now press the side button . Being careful with sharp blade pull the blade forward gently. It may need to wiggle a bit but it will come out. Insert new blade while pressing side button. goodluck

I have a stanley 99e. i took it apart ti change the blade, without paying attention, and now i can't re-assanble it properly. I can't find any instructions online.

Hi.

See here the Stanley knife disassembly. If you have a 99E there may be an additional plastic part that is not shown in the diagram. The plastic tab is located at the back of the blade.

WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE STANLEY SWIVEL LOCK UTILITY KNIFE AND REMOVE DULL BLADE. NOW i CAN'T GET THE NEW BLADE IN AND CLOSE THE KNIFE PROPERLY, WHAT'S THE TRICK?

If you use the wrong brand of blades, they won't let the knife shut all the way. The notch is cut slightly differently. The same is true for the Kobalt knife I just bought at Lowes. Get the Stanley blades that are right next to the knives - they are the only ones that work.

Sorry.

If you bought the Stanley blades, then I don't know what the problem is. Sorry for that too.
