SOURCE: kodaK EKTAGRAPHIC MODEL E2 SLIDE PROJECTOR

You can use an ENH lamp which is 250 watts. it costs more (shop around- margins are high on lamps) but lasts an average of 175 hours vs the 300 watt ELH lamp at 35 hours.

You can also get ELH and ENH lamps from Wiko and Fuji in a "-5" version, ie ELH-5. It's built for 125 volts rather than the typical actual house voltage of 110-120 v. This allows them to burn much longer. There is a marginal lowering of light output in these forms.

SOURCE: My Kodak Carousel 750H slide projector will not

A common cause for that problem is a broken plastic "link" on the solenoid (Kodak part #217769). There are repair shops who can replace this part. It is very difficult to replace by yourself. http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/repair/slideProj/index.jhtml

If the motor is "OK" (turning), then it's not a fuse, it's the belt that the motor drives to power the slide change mechanism. There are 2 belts: 1 that drives the fan & one that drives the slide change mechanism.

SOURCE: Just purchased a Kodak Ektagraphic AF1 &

The model AF-1 did not have remote focus feature. It does have the Auto-Focus feature. The auto-focus adjustment is a pretty "fine-tune" adjustment that requires a factory alignment tool & a trained hand.
Your model AF is quite old, and probably requires replacement of the "link" that connects the slide change solenoid to the slide change mechanism. The problem is the plastic the "link" was made of gets brittle over the years and cracks, rendering slide change non-functional.
Both problems are easily remedied by a qualified repair dealer with the tools, training and parts.

SOURCE: the projector drops the slide

The problem you have is related to the cycle contacts in the slide change mechanism. The contact is probably worn through and the projector will just continuously cycle. An experienced technician may be able to fix the problem temporarily (by gently bending the cycle contact to capture the clutch spring). Because of the age of the projector, very few parts remain. You may want to contact www.micro-tools.com to check if they have parts available for your projector. They may be able to help you locate an experienced tech. Sorry I can't help you more!! Best of Luck !

I have a Kodak Ektagraphic with no model listed on it at all. How can I find a replacement bulb, all I can find look wrong.

Supplied with 82V, 300W EXR lamp Projection Lamps Quartz-halogen 82 V projection lamps- Here is service manual link http://resources.kodak.com/support/pdf/en/manuals/slideProj/manual/ektagraphic_sm.pdf Several different Models all say EXR 300W As CORRECT Bulb : EXR, 300 W (35-hour lamp life at full lamp/medium-brightness) Sampling of other lamps: EXY (200 hours/less brightness) EXW (15 hours/maximum brightness) FHS (70 hours/medium brightness) Use combinations of lamp brightness, plus half- and full-lamp settings to approximate image brightness in multi-projector presentations. Lamp Tips • Projector operation on line voltages above 125 volts greatly reduces the lamp life. • Unplug the projector before changing the lamp. • Allow for unrestricted flow of air to the exhaust vent to prolong lamp life. • Gently wipe off any fingerprints with a soft cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol.

Fix focusing on ektagraphic remote control

Ektagraphic III A did not have remote focus. Someone has probably substituted a remote from a higher functioning model on this projector. The forward / reverse functions on the supplied remote will continue to function correctly, but the focus buttons will not.
Good Luck !! Jim

Shutter stuck on Ektagrahpic III projector

First of all, the shutter will only open IF there is a slide in the gate. Assuming there is a slide in the gate, there are 2 things that could be preventing the shutter from opening:
1. Most likely - the shutter is spring-loaded. If the spring unhooks or is missing, the shutter will not open.
2. There is an adjustment that needs to be made after the spring is replaced or re-hooked (or just is out of adjustment. Refer to the Kodak Ektagraphic Service Manual @ the Kodak web site: http://resources.kodak.com/support/pdf/en/manuals/slideProj/manual/ektagraphic_sm.pdf
Good Luck! Jim

Light and cooling fan work. Will not feed or project slides.

Based on your description, it sounds like a problem in the slide change mechanism. If it does not project images, it means the "dark shutter" is not opening when a slide is in the gate. The fact that it does not rotate the carousel tray could be caused by several things in the slide change mechanism. The easiest to diagnose would be the belt that transfers power from the motor to the mechanism has broken or popped off. That would cause all the problems you describe. Your best bet is to take it to a factory-trained service dealer for an absolute diagnosis & repair. I should warn you, however - parts for the AudioViewer series are in very short supply!

Kodak 410 Projector/Viewer - no lite through projector or viewer

These projectors were designed & made by Telex for Kodak.
If the screen stays black when you push a slide down into the "gate" (in either viewer or projector mode), then the trip mechanism that opens the shutters when a slide is detected has a problem. It could be an adjustment, a broken or out of position spring or hardened lubrication.
There is no good way to proceed unless you are trained in the service of these projectors. Contact a factory-trained repair dealer. Happy New Year!

Koday Ektagraphic III projection lamp differences

The newest style eliminated the heat absorbing lens and (I think) made the mirror do that job. This improved the light output marginally. I don't know if the new style of lamp module is still available or not. You can ask a Kodak dealer or if in the US/Canada (shipping applies) try www.micro-tolls.com and search for p/n 2H2256.

Alternatively you can use EXW lamps which are high brightness (though still 300 watts). However these are very expensive and have a short lamp life...15 hours I think.
