Hi.

You can obtain the PUK code from your network provider. This is a code identified with your sim card or mobile number. If your sim card is a prepaid plan, you can get this from the sim package, from that card where you took out the sim. Otherwise, you can get it from your mobile network provider.

Thank you for using Fixya!

How do I change the code on a Kwikset key pad

The steps below are to change your access code to a new code. This will also remove any previous codes stored in the Powerbolt's memory.

pb1000programbutton

  1. Manually put the bolt in the extended (lock) position. Press the PROGRAM button once, enter your new 4 - 8 digit code and then press the LOCK button.
  2. Press the PROGRAM button twice, enter the same new code and then press the LOCK button once.
  3. Press the PROGRAM button three times, enter the same new code and then press LOCK once.
If your old code still remains in the unit, you will need to perform a hard reset of the unit. To perform a hard reset of the unit, remove all four batteries and leave them out for 1 hour. After the hour has passed, you may re-enter the batteries.

Good luck!

Just want to change 4 digit code to new one

Do this, with the door open:
Remove cover from assembly by sliding cover up and off. You will then see the program button.
A programmed code can be from four (4) to eight (8) digits long.
Up to 2 user codes can be entered.
Excess delay in the programming steps once started will cause unit to beep twice and will require you to restart from step (a).

Programming the first User Code:
a. Press the program button on the interior unit once.
b. Enter in 4 to 8 digit code onto the keypad.
c. Press the "LOCK" button to save code.
d. Extend the bolt by pressing the "LOCK" button and re-enter the code to test. The bolt should retract to the unlocked position. If it does not unlock, repeat steps (a) through (c).

Programming the second User Code:
a. Press the program button on the interior unit twice.

After programming in just one new code, the existing old code may still work. I suggest that if this is the case, that you program in two codes to make sure that the old one is over-written. You may try programming in the same new code both times if you don't want to have two codes.

It won't link to my home security system.

The Kwikset 909-15 lock is a stand-alone device and is not designed to link to an external home security system.

Here is a link to the installation and programming instructions in PDF form--you will need Adobe Reader installed on your computer to open this file (http://get.adobe.com/reader/):

The door locks when you put in the code and unlocks when you push the lock button.

Your problem is likely that the lock is programmed for the "wrong-hand"-left door versus right door installation. Here's a link to the installation instructions; pay close attention to step 8:

I just installed a Smartcode Deadbolt and I follow the directions but I cant program a code and it trys to lock itself every 30 seconds. what do i do

On the back of the unit slide the cover off and push the 2nd switch (on the contorl panel of four switches) down.

To program the code, push the black button once and enter a 4 to 8 digit code, then press the middle lock button. To set a secondary code, press the black button twice, enter 4 to 8 digit code and press the lock button.

This should all be self explanitory in the instruction manual.

I have one of these on my front door and its fantastic. I carry a key but have not used it in months. Bravo Kwikset, Bravo!

How to reset kwikset pwerbolt 1000

6. Resetting the code: - please follow these instructions to reset the code on your Powerbolt 1000 unit:
  • Remove the inner cover plate from the lock.
  • Locate the small round program button near the left side of the circuit board (Red or Black).
  • To program, the latch should be extended out in the lock position, press the reset button once, then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. Re-enter the same 4-8 digit code to confirm, the latch should retract. This completes the programming. This signals that your code has been accepted.
