Question about Maytag Dishwashers
Check whether the pump runs when you start a new cycle as this is the default behaviour for most machines to ensure that they are empty before starting the wash. If the pump runs then it likely that the filter in the bottom of the machine requires cleaning.

1. Check the filter first - there may be food debris blocking the filter or pieces of broken glass. Remove the filter from the base of the appliance and check if it is blocked. Clear any blockages or debris. Please note - before you do anything, you must ensure that you turn the dishwasher off at the mains to prevent any accidents.
2. Then check the drain hose - the drain hose runs under the sink and comes out of the back of the dishwasher. This hose can become blocked - if it is, this could stop the waste water from draining away. If your drain hose damaged or bent, you can buy a replacement hose and fit it very easily.
Also, is the drain hose fitted in the correct position?
3. The pump itself is faulty - if your dishwasher is making an odd sound it may be the pump, it is usually worth calling an engineer and replacing this.
I hope this is useful and helpful. Good luck!

I've been learning some magic tricks before and it was really fun to do that certain thing. While doing some writing stuff can someone do my dissertation, I get a lot of ideas about magic that I have learned from previous days.

Hi, W/D here.
Your panel may be able to be changed. Look at the top of your panel for a trim piece held in place with screws.. Remove the screws and try to slide your panel front up and out. If it will come out like this, you can change your color very easily. In fact, some dishwashers came with 2 panels with each side painted a different color (harvest gold or avocado green anyone?). If your panel will not come apart, all is not lost....
I have seen panel covers available on EBay, in the dishwasher section. Some are sheetmetal and some were like sticky backed foil. If you're going stainless, this might be the route to take.
If you are artistic, you can mask and paint the panel with either a spray enamel, or one of the newer plastic paints. Not crafty? remove the door and take to an auto painter. I know for a fact that most of them will paint a refrigerator (ahem), so a dishwasher can be done as well.
Hope that this at least sparked a few ideas! Best regards, --W/D--

It is not the dishwasher. The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

Check for power to the drain pump when the water is supposed to drain. If power is present, replace the drain pump.

The drain plug is on the rear of the unit, just above floor level. You can either drain it into a low sided pan that can hold a least a quart of water. Or roll it to an area, where you can allow it to just drain. If you drain it in place into a pan, be sure to turn the unit OFF & unplug it, before draining the water.
If you have misplaced your Owner's Manual, you can get one online from Sears Parts Direct.
Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
