Check your drip pan and the nozzle of the line and see if it is dry. If it is dry you got a clog like I did.

I solved my own is the line from freezer to the drip pan was clogged with ice. Just remove the two back screws in the freezer section and melt the ice using hot water from the tap and maybe use a light pump could be a small foot pump nothing to powerful to put in the hole and pump until you see the water come through.

What would make my Kenmore fridge leak when defrosting?

not certain with this model, but pull it out and look at the back. You should see a pipe and a drain. The water ends up on a tray on top of the compressor which evaporates because of the heat the compressor produces.

Kitchen Aid KTRC22EK leak inside refridgerator

It sounds like the drain for the defrost water is pluged. You can remove the back panel inside the freezer(ice maker will have to coe out first) and access the drain in the rear center of the freezer. Check the drain. It can be defrsted with a hair dryer(shut off the referigerator first) good luck, snugglepants

My Kenmore fridge is leaking water from the bottom. The water is copper colored and seems to be coming from one of the hoses, but I can't tell which one. There is no ice maker.

Smelly Ice and water leaking into top shelf

Does water in door dispenser taste bad? If not, Try arm and hammer fridge deoderizer. It will help to absorb fridge odors which may be clinging to water molecules in ice maker tray. Ice maker tray is open to freezer area.Water is very medium to infiltrate with odors. Try this first

Kenmore coldspot - How do you remove the ice maker box to clean

I have the exact same Kenmore and exact same model #77292798. It's the top freezer model with ice maker. Here's what I did:

Empty everything in the freezer.
Turn water to ice maker off from source behind unit.
Remove bottom panel (two screws)
Every screw in the freezer is the exact same size. I used a screwdriver style socket and, I think
this works the best.
Remove ice maker (4 screws) and unplug from socket.
Remove rear panel (2 screws).

My freezer was loaded with ice underneath the bottom panel. The ice scraped away easily. There is a tin pan underneath the coils that drains toward the middle where the drain hole is. Again, my freezer was full of ice beneath this tin pan and, I had to scrape away. You may be tempted to try and remove the coil because it would be easier to get to drain hole. I tried this and, it did no good. Don't try it. Once all the ice was scraped away, I realized that the drain hole was plugged with ice. I used boiling hot water and used a squeeze bottle to pour the hot water into the drain hole. I then wrapped a paper towel around a thin screwdriver and used that to soak up the now cold water in the drain hole. After doing this a dozen times or so, the drain finally cleared.

Then, reassemble. This was a much easier task than I thought it would be and, will take care of it much quicker next time.

Water dripping from freezer to fridge

Sounds like the drain for the defrost cycle water may be plugged and you eventually overflow water. See if you can find the little drain hole for the coil defrost water and check for dirty/plugged. Try to pour hot water in the drain area and see if it runs out the drain fast (if real slow it's a problem). Make sure the water is also going down to the holding pan near the bottom area/compressor area (that's where it evaporates later). Let me know what you find.
