depending on the age of this unit it may have food blocking what is called the "check valve".
on most models it is mounted right on the outlet of the pump housing. one model uses a 4 inch plastic tube style device and is about 1/2 inch on the pump and 1" on the hose. inside of it is where the food items can block the check valve. remove the hose and unscrew the check valve from the pump and see if something is blocking it.
on newer units the check valve is built into the drain hose, if you hose has a 90 degree elbow molded into it where the hose hooks up to the drain pump. once again take the hose off and look inside the hose or try to blow through the hose and see if the hose is clear.
good luck tom

Try cleaning out the air gap. The air gap is not part of the machine, and is located on your sink. If this becomes clogged, it may cause the machine to not drain properly. Also, I know you said you checked the drain hose and cleaned as far as the filter and chopper blade, but have you checked the lower filter? There is a filter located underneath the machine that should periodically be cleaned. To check this, you need to access the machine from underneath by removing the bottom vanity cover. Hope that one of these helps!

Hello Richard, Welcome to Fixya ! You've come to the right place. The problem you're experiencing unfortunately is a common one. The water inlet valve has been an issue with B/S/H built ( this includes bosch, thermador, seimens & gaggenau ) dishwasher's going back to the mid 90's. The part to repair it is available at most brick & mortar appliance part centers or you can check out on-line vendors such as repairclinic, apwagner etc. Do a search for part # 1105846 at repairclinic, you'll see what I'm talikng about. By the way it's about $35. Hope that helps move you forward. Let me know if I can assist you further, or need help on how to change it etc. It's relatively easy with Bosch. Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
