SOURCE: Honeywell TZ-4 Misbehaving

there is a "zone a lone" switch on the upper right side of the panel. Make sure it is in the "occupied" position. I believe that is up. If that doesn't work reply back.

SOURCE: purge light flashing on Honeywell TrolaTemp system board and one zone not working in AC

Be sure all zones are calling for cooling. Press the purge override and verify air flow on all zones. If one is still not working verify the board is sending voltage to that damper. A meter is a huge help but if all lights are on chances are the damper is stuck. You should be able to free it up but it will just happen again. Either replace damper motor, replace damper or if you can figure out if it is a "spring open" damper, get it open and unhook the wire to that zone. This will keep it open at all times because it can not "power close". Provided that zone CAN stay open all the time. Keep me posted!!

My TrueZONE HZ322 Panel has the purge light on constantly and cycles purging zones 1/2 every 40 seconds. How can I get to Normal mode and stop it from purging?

Sounds like a bad board in the panel. First verify that both dampers will infact close and open to eliminate damper problem.

My hvac is not cooling. It is DATs/Zone controlled with a honeywell hz322. When I bypass the hz322 by shorting R W on the furnace control board heat runs fine. The HZ322 is reporting DATs temp limit e

limit will open when exceeded heat at heat exchanger. possible cause restriction on air flow(blower speed too slow, dirty filter or weak limit switch itself). when unit cooling down limit will reset and start back like nothing was wrong

Yes, I believe you are correct concerning the circuit panel.

Regarding your heat pump not keeping up ...depending on what part of the country you live in, heat pumps are not the best thing to heat with. As you probably already know, once it reaches 32 degrees outside, the heat pump stops working and the electric furnace or heat strips come on to supply warm air. Frankly, when that happens, it's like turning on your kitchen toaster and blowing air across it with an electric fan. Doesn't sound to efficient does it. Plus, your electric meter is spinning like crazy and the power company is falling in love with you.

In my area (Virginia) most new home construction is now using what's called a dual fuel system. It's a heat pump, but it has a gas furnace backup for when it reaches 35 degrees outdoors. It's very, very efficient and a very comfortable heat. The gas furnace can run on either Natural Gas or Propane Gas.
In most cases this can be added to an existing heat pump system. The only thing necessary is the Gas Furnace, since you already have a heat pump and all the duct work. Could probably be added for a whole lot less than you''d expect.

The other option is to add a vent-free gas fireplace or vent-free gas logs, if you have an existing solid fuel burning fireplace. They are great for zone heating and/or supplemental heating. Plus, if you have a power outage in the middle of the winter, they'll still work, as they don't require any electricity.

I didn't mean to run own, but I hope all this helps you solve your heating problem.
Please let me know.
