Depends on the settings you set the frig and freezer to , as soon the settings are reached it should shut off, anything longer than a few hours points to a fault.

Frigidaire gallery french door frig power failure generator kicks in and frig stays on Sabbath mode if I am away will my food spoil in this mode when power returns will frig return to normal operation

Good Afternoon Diane,

I understand you want to make sure that if you are away, and your Frigidaire refrigerator is in Sabbath mode, and there is a power failure, will your food spoil or will your appliance return to normal operation. Typically, your refrigerator should return to normal operation, in Sabbath mode. I kindly ask that you provide me with the model number of your refrigerator. Typically, this number is located inside on the left or right hand walls. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Compressor is hot and I hear clicking in back every couple of minutes. I understand that this indicates that the compressor is in a locked up / no start condition. the overload cools enough to reset and...

Could be bad start/over load relay, or bad compressor. Try unplugging your frig for say 30 to 40 min then, with your hand on top of a cool compressor, plug the frig back in and see if compressor smoothly vibrates for at least 5 min without becoming very hot or shutting off even though fan continues to run. When the start/over load relay fails, it can apply power to both the compressors start coil AND it's run coil at the same time for to long and it very quickly causes and over load situation. I bet your "Starting Components" (start/over load relay) are bad. Any decent appliance parts store will have what you need. Just take in the make, model, and serial number of tour frig.

Ice maker has stopped making ice. did this before, cost over $200 to fix last time. shaft that kicks ice out froze up and wouldn't release ice.

If the cubes keep sticking, they are probably too small which is caused by too little water presure to the frig. You need 30 pounds PSI to frig so make sure there is no RO system connected to it. Thaw the ice and start again.

Runs constantly. Coils extremely hot. Breaker kicks out infusebox

It sounds as if the compressor is overheating causing a large current draw throwing your breaker. If the coils are durty on the back....clean them..also clean the coils under the frig by the fan motor.

Not cooling, compressor kicks in for 3 seconds then back out

No the PTC relay on the compressor is bad. Need to replace it.

First be sure to unplug frig. Remove the cardboard cover that covers most backs of the frig units. Remove the plastic cover that is on the side of compressor. It is held on with a metal clip. Now you should be able to see the relay pry the relay straight off. note the wiring and position of relay. Only three prongs on compressor. Go to a parts house for appliance's and with your make and model number should be able to get a new one. Let me know if you need any more help. ken

After moving frigde and freezer quit.

Your compressor start relay has become loose or possibly defective.
Push it back on for a good connection.
Watch it when you plug the fridge in.
If it sparks replace it.

Compressor cutting out about every 30 to 45 sec

The clicking sound is a relay called PTC relay. You need to replace it. First be sure to unplug frig. Remove the cardboard cover that covers most backs of the frig units. Remove the plastic cover that is on the side of compressor. It is held on with a metal clip. Now you should be able to see the relay pry the relay straight off. note the wiring and position of relay. Frig temp

Do a "temp" test. Put a normal thermometer in a glass of water and put it in the fridge overnight. Is the water temp matching the set point temp? It can be +/- 5 degrees (not an exact science sort of thing). But basically if the fridge is working OK and you just have a setpoint I'd say it's probably not worth the effort to change the thermistor, etc.
