I want to open ports on my Asus router to use on my Ham radio connections my ASUS Router RTN66U model

    I am Extra class.
open ports to the WWW? you plan on running this radio remotely? far from home?
tell what is goal first then we can do the setups.
the router manual is best, no 2 routers work the same!
in crude theory yes, but only the manual solves how to open ports.
is your radio using Ethernet ? wired to router, or wifi or USB.
what I do is use Ehternet, (no radio stated , I have many)
The best is have Ethernet wired to the router.
then in the router find the radio there, it will show all DHCP connected devices then make that IP address reserved to that RADIO MAC ADDRESS.
Then every time you turn on the radio you are connected to the sublan.
and all computers in the home (sublan) can find the radio easy
are you running w10-64bit, v1903, l, the newest version changes the sharing rules on the sub lan, more easy.

The rules to do this are no different than a home web cam.
IP cam. the setups are the same.
Outside home is way more tricky, you ISP blocks most ports into your home, I found port 88 open and more., but that depends on your ISP.
I can get to my NVR camera server any place on earth. (my secret)
I had to test a huge list of ports to see which ones were not blocked by my ISP. (my secret my port but not the steps to do ask.)

Wifi is even more work, and it has its own set of MAC address.
The Radio must have very smart wifi controls to pull the off.
    and most don't.

ok buddy what is the goal end to end?
tell what radio you have;? make and model , I have ICOM.
tell your sub lan setup, tell what is wired and not.?
tell what things need to connect to the RADIO pages.
tell what browser used. and OS version.

but first get the radio on a fixed IP, that is key to success long term.
good luck and 73s' to you and yours.

SOURCE: exactly ASUS WL-500g, no internet connection

My advice and personal experiences with both wired and wireless connectivity, is if you wish to share files and internet connection, purchase a combined Modem/Router and not a seperate router to work along side your original modem. Your modem will send your router an ip address in turn your pc is sent one from your router and can get complicated; keep it simple! These are much easier to set up and control as one unit and if there are ever any connection problems you will know it's either a setting or a modem/router problem and not have to wonder ; is it the modem?; Router? settings? etc. As there are frequent loss of connections both internet and LAN it makes sense have one peice of equipment to maintain.

ra config
Configure remote access parameters.
SYNTAX:
ra config [port = <number]>
[mode = <Permanent]>

I found the above command relating to port numbers in the reference manual for your access point. You can try this. If it does not work, below is a link to the Thomson website where you can view the pdf file for your access point's reference manual where you will find many other commands.

SIMPLY REINSTALL ITS SOFTWARE AND UPDATE IT ON YOUR CONTROL PANEL- DEVICE MANAGER. THUS, IT WILL BE ABLE TO RECOGNISE YOUR ROUTER.

KEEP IN TOUCH IF IT STILL GOES LIKE THAT SO WE COULD ARRIVE TO NEW ALTERNATIVES.

Where would I find my key code on my router

If you have set up the router's wifi network before, you probably put in a key code. You can change the code by logging into the router with a wired connection. (With a browser go to 192.168.1.1 and use the default user and password (if you haven't changed any of these). It's in the manual: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/RT-N66U_B1/E7018_RT_N66U_B1_Manual.zip for the English copy. Extract the PDF from the file and see page 17. Other versions of the manual are available here: http://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN66U/HelpDesk_Manual/ . ) If you try to use a computer that is already accessing the router via the wireless network, you'll lose the connection when you apply the key code change.

If you have changed the administrative user name and password, you may need to reset the router to factory settings. Press the recessed Reset button with a ball point pen or straightened paperclip. Hold the button down for about 5 minutes.

There wasn't a key code built into the unit for the wi-fi network. I hope this helps.

Hi, i am trying to connect my ASUS WL500g to my linksys WRT54G, but not able to do that. Is there anyone who has used this configuration to get the wifi on both the routers, then plz help me asap. For your...

Your only mistake here is what port you are using on the ASUS. Only modems connect to the WAN port. Connect one of the Linksys LAN ports to one of the ASUS LAN ports. What you are essentially doing is using the ASUS as a wireless access point rather than a router. Additionally, you may have problems if you try to use the same wireless network name and password on both devices. Better to assign a different one to the ASUS and just let devices connect to whichever signal they find strongest.

How to connect two ASUS RT-N10 Routers to PPPoe connection?

All routers don't work the same. You have assigned to the second router to an IP address that is outside of the pool. Some routers will not see this. Try assigning the second router to the .50 IP and see if it is identified. If so, you know that is your problem. You can then decide to either reassign the second router's IP to a high address in the pool, or use the .50 IP and in the first router, use the advanced settings to reserve the .50 address to the second router so it will not re inadvertently assigned to another device, causing an IP conflict.

I have asus router WL 500 g premium , when i conect my router to the power , all led form lan it open bu no lan it is on router . router not conect , pls help me .

Have you tried to reset the router? Most routers have a reset button in the back of the router (where the LAN ports are located) that you can hold in for ~30 seconds to reset the router to factory defaults which could also resolve the issue you're having as well. Although if you have a computer connected using a patch cable (CAT5) to a computer that is turned on and your not getting a link indicator light on your router then try another port to see if the led is visible then, if not try another patch cable or try connecting it to another machine.

Asus WL 520gu can't connect internet

1, connect your wireless router with cable to your laptop,
2. Login into your Asus-WL520gu and setup your wireless how you want it to run." do not bother with putting your username settings in there"
3. In your Asus-WL-520gu after setting up your wireless turn the DHCP off in it.
4. Now connect the cable that you have connected to your laptop to your router instead of your laptop.
""You should now be able to connect to the wireless with your settings. and connect anything ells you want to the other 4 ports on the back of you wireless router"" note: do not connect anything to the WAN port as it is used for DSL modems; and not Routers with ADSL modem.
when connecting a router to a router - the one that is connecting you to the internet needs DHCP turned on because it is the one that will be giving you IPs and Gateway settings - the other router such as wireless router after setting it up needs its DHCP turned off - other wise you will have 2 routers trying to do the same thing with ip's and gateways. And you should never connect a modem router to the WAN port as it is a modem router and NOT just a DSL-modem. The WAN port is intended for DSL-modems only. Not only consumers but also many technicians make that mistake

I am not able to properly set up my network with an ASUS Wl-500B

Both routers need to be on the same IP scheme and subnet i.e. 192.168.0.X subnet 255.255.255.0. First, unplug the Asus router. Next, make sure you have connection to the internet by hooking directly to the Apple router. Once you've established a connection to the internet plug the Asus router into the Apple router but go LAN port to LAN port.

Connecting 2 routers (ASUS WL-500W and D-Link DSL-G604T Wireless)

This will give you a "Double NAT" setup. Meaning, Your D-Link router is connected to the external internet address assigned to you by your internet service provider. More than likely this is a DHCP address you do not control. Your D-Link router is then translating the address to the 192.168.1.x network. This is the first NAT translation. You are then connecting the ASUS router to DLINK, causing a second NAT translation. (Internet ADSL --> D-Link WAN Port --> D-Link Lan Port --> ASUS WAN Port --> ASUS Lan Port to computer/server/etc. ) If both of your routers are giving out DHCP addresses, then this is all that is required.

Can not get my adsl modem to connect through ASUS wireless router

it could be the modem and the router has the same ip address. the asus router has an ip of 192.168.1.1, check if the dynalink modem has an ip of 192.168.1.x. if so, change the router's ip to 192.168.x.x (e.g. 192.168.2.1) then see if you'll be able to connect to the internet while the modem is connected to the wan port of the router
