What speakers are connected to the amp? What is the impedance(ohms) of the speakers; how are they wired to the amp? What is the amp impedance rated at? What gauge wire is feeding the amp from the battery?

Is your amp mounted in a place where there is little space around it? it needs to be able to circulate air properly, so make sure theres nothing covering it up. also, make sure you are speakers are wired to at least a 4 ohm load. if its any lower, it will build up too much heat. let me know what kind of speakers you have connected and how many, and ill tell you how to get it to the proper ohm load.

What's the proper ohm load for a 10' P2fosgate connected to a 250 watt fosgate 1 channel amp because my amp keeps cutting off at high volumes and getting hot after having the same problem with an Alpine 4 channel amp that was previously installed? Are there any solutions because obviously replacing the 4 channel Alpine didn't do it? I want to know if the shop rigged it up somehow causing this problem.

I have 2 pioneer 6x9 400w, pioneer GM 6500f 760w amp and a kenwood KFC W1012 sub, how d i get the best sound from these?

pioneer gm 6500 is a 4 ch amp rated at 60w-4 way to small of an amp to run your sub. UNDER-POWERING your sub is more likely to damage spkr than over-powering. my advice, get mono-block to run sub

My pioneer gm 5300t amp cuts off at loud volume and will not kick back on until it is turned down and cools off, what is wrong with it?

You are over heating it,You have your speakers wired up for a lower,(OHM) Rate then the amp can handle, That why it cut out when you have it turn up

I parelled one 15" q power subwoofer to my brideged pioneer amp.The amp got really hot and blew a fuse. How should I wire my dvc subwoofer to the briged amp.

Hello sir, hi, YOU DON'T bridge no more speakers, this upsets the impedance load of the amp. to install another sub-woofer, get another amplifier. You may have damaged your power amplifier, If you experience repeated fuse blows, your power amplifier is now SHORTED. This needs IC amplifier replacement.

Bass cut off when volume is too high

When an amplifier shuts the Bass off that means its going into protection mode otherwise it will burn out the outputs. One way is to turn your gains down, Pioneer amps are not the best amps for bass out there, they are more for car speakers, I personally wont use a pioneer amp to run my subwoofers especially if they are hard driven subs like JL , Kicker Solo's and MTX subs. But for now just turn the gains down to 3/4 and that should help u, you can also install a fan to keep your amp cooler, if this never happened before in 5 yrs and now it does then that means your amp is just tired and the inside components are overheating easily, thats common with Pioneer and Sony amps.

Good luck buddy.

Gm 5400 pioneer t amp power light blinking nothing coming through sub also amp gets very hot

I had the problem of blinking light when I was first installing the amp. It was my first install, but after trouble shooting, I found my amp was going into safe mode, because of an inconsistent current- my ground connection was not very good. After sanding down the contact areas on the ground, and posotive connection to the battery, the amp worked and sounds very nice. It does get a little hot, keep it well vented.

NO REMOTE TERMINAL ON PIONEER GM1200 AMP

does it function properly with just the power and the ground? If so try using a ordinary fuse breaker(switchable on/off) and mount it in the cabin of the vehicle where you have easy access to it and can shut it off and turn it on when you need to- Its not necessary to have the remote lead connected to it if it functions well without it.

Basicly my speakers were working fine, my subs were working fine but everytime i was turning my volume up to a certain level i would lose all base and all noise from the subs in my boot, so i turned it...

The amp should always light up showing you that it is powered and there will also be a red light that will light up if theres something wrong.Sounds like maybe the hot wire that goes to the amp isnt big enough to give the amp enough power.Check your positive wire and ground wire for tightness and make sure hot wire supply is big enough and also the ground wire is big enough and has a good ground.I hope this Helps you.Have A great day..
