Promac wall unit Model # PS9OCR. Unit was left on

Promac wall unit Model # PS9OCR. Unit was left on for 2 days under "cooling" mode at 23 degrees. Last night water was dripping from the unit onto the floor. Enough water to dampen a few towels. Left the louvers open to drain out the water. Should I call for repair?

I would suggest you check how humid it is outisde, if it is really humid it is pulling water out of the air, the drain could be plugged also. And the filter could be plugged or the condensor may be defective or plugged.

How frequently should the compressor run on a fridge?

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

The model number provided does not register. Your model number is located on the inside wall of your fresh food section.

Your freezer is your only source of cooling. It will meet its setting before meeting the refrigerator temperature.

The normal setting are -2 to +2 degrees F. for the freezer and 35 -40 degrees F. for your fresh food section.

Your freezer will go about 10 degrees F. above the set temperature. Then when it reaches 10 degrees F. below the set temperature the compressor will kick in.

You have condensing coils either under your unit or a canister in the back which gets ride of the heat. When the condensing coil is plugged up with dust, this could affect your cooling by as much as 40 degrees.

I do not think this is your total problem.

Feel the face of your separator wall between your freezer and fresh food section. Is it hot?

Your problem is your condenser fan in the lower right back of you unit is burned out.

So, you can not dissipate the heat.

Remove the lower back cover. Take a common household fan to blow air under your unit.

Your compressor is running to make up for the heat that the condenser fan can not dissipate.

My Hitachi indoor unit model RAS-26CHA1 is not giving out any cool air. The fan is working and have checked via manual. But manual does not have a trouble shooting section. Can you please assist me in...

To get cool keep temp setting 23 degree and mode in "cool" position. After compressor start, keep your hand on discharge pipe line (Smaller pipe), if it's warm your unit is starting cool. And also check with Amps meter for reading as per in name plate with the unit. If amps very less than specified, it's under gas leak. You have find out leak and arrest. Then charge gas.

Normal cool temp 23 to 25 and heat mode 29 to 31. And regrading defrosting your pipelines no need any tray. You can insulate with Armaflex tube which is mostly used for best insulation. Hope there won't be further water leak.

The inside unit runs but the compressor (outsice unit won't start).

Please check your temp setting on cool mode with 23 degree or heat mode with 27 degee. And wait for 3 minutes. If still problem, Check in out door unit for power and also contactor coil for required volts. If all o.k. Still no start, Power off and then check your compressor for continuity. Take an ohms meter, check compressor terminals by each 2 terminal. If no reading, your compressor winding is open.
Replace/repair your compressor.

A/c doesn't remove moisture in the room? even when exchanger is set on open or closed--no moisture in collection tray either model #agj3211daxt2    G.E.

An A/C unit is a dehumidifyer BUT Unit are rated in Pints of water, a Unit in Florida might need a de humiditiyer connected to it, the air is heavy with humidity. Another reason is that the Unit is under sized or not allowed to run long enough (?) Infor. on what State you live in would help and the size of the apt. or house the unit is covering. The best T / H would be 70* and 55 H and that would be on the cool side for most people , avg temps in a house would be 74* 65%, body temps are 98.6 most A/C unit are rated at 90* amp temp ( outside ) if the condenser is dirty this will cut the performance on a hot day over 85* Keep unit clean -replace filter (s) . If your getting a 15 degree reading between outside and inside your doing good the best would be 20 degrees ( depending on heat load) windows, and sun. Actic fans remove 30% of the heat -it will drop the temp from 120 to about 85, this can save you a lot of money in A/C bills and help cool the house in warm day when you don't need the A/C.
