### Error Dimension mismatch on ti89

Error Dimension Mismatch:
Two or more arguments must be of the same dimension. For
example, [1,2]+[1,2,3] is a dimension mismatch because the
matrices contain a different number of elements.

### What does Dim Mismatch on TI-83 mean?

You have a dimension mismatch if (for example) you are doing 2-var stats and the two lists do not have the same length. You can also have mismatch with matrices.

### I get a ERR: DIM MISMATCH when I try to use graph an inequality using the inequalz app

Your TI-84 Plus displays the ERR:DIM MISMATCH error if you are trying to perform an operation that references one or more lists or matrices whose dimensions do not match.
For example, multiplying L1*L2, where L1={1,2,3,4,5} and L2={1,2} produces an ERR:DIM MISMATCH error because the number of elements in L1 and L2 do not match

### When trying to write simple graph lie Y=x+3 i get err: DIM MISMATCH QUIT

Dimension mismatch error occurs when arguments are not with same dimensions. Two or more arguments must be of the same dimension. For example, [1,2]+[1,2,3] is a dimension mismatch because the matrices contain a different number of elements. By the way, it it very easy to resolving your problem with graphing linear function. ### What does ERR: DIM MISMATCH Mean??? 1:Quit

You are trying to perform an operation that references one or more lists or matrices whose dimensions do not match. For example, trying to multiply a five-element list by a two-element list will produce this error because the number of elements in the lists do not match.

If you're getting this while trying to graph a function, it's probably because the calculator is expecting stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

### Err:dim mismatch what does this mean and why wont this stupid thing let me graph?!

You're apparently referencing one more lists or matrices whose dimensions do not match. You may be referencing a variable that is a matrix when it should be a scalar.

If you can't find it, append a comment to this post specifying exactly what you're trying to plot.

### For ti 84+ HOW do I solve the error indication

Certain mathematical entities have so called dimensions: A list has a dimension, which is the number of elements in the list. Matrices also have dimensions which are the number of rows, and the number of columns.

If you are doing paired variable statistics, the data is in two lists and if the number of elements in one list is not equal to the number of elements of the the other, the dimension are not matched (equal), and calculator will give you dimension mismatch in any calculation that involves BOTH list.

The problem with your question is that you do not say what you were trying to do and I will have to guess or read your mind.

I suggest you reset the RAM to erase any old configuration that may be interfering with what you want to do.
1. Press [2nd] [+] to access (MEM)ory management.
2. Press [7:Reset][1:All ram][2:Reset]
3. Calculator answers with "Ram Cleared" message.
4. Press [CLEAR] to erase the message.
5. Restart what you were doing (statistics, or graphs)

### TI-83 Plus Calculator: what does ERR: DIM MISMATCH mean?...

Imagine you are doing statistical calculations with two list, say L1 and L2 but one list has 10 elements (values) while the other has only 9. The dimension of the lists are different (mismatched) because one is 10 and the other 9.

Another case is if you are manipulating matrices such as adding a3x3 matrix to 3x2 matrix. Both matrices have the same number of rows but different numbers of columns.
