Depending on the model of printer , once you turn it on and open the ink compartment door, it slides out.

It is a the flow of the ink into the printer which fails, and these error cannot be reset most of the times when you turn of the unit and oon back again if it works then it is good again, if not it is better to replace the All-In-One, If the printer is in warranty or extended warranty you will get a free replacement from HP, if not you can get a upgrade option wher you may get some discount from HP Tech support Call 1800 474 6836

SOURCE: Printer won't print

That error usually means you need to change out the Ink waste tank filters located at the base of the printer - this is best changed by an actual HP tech - they can be very temperamental to remove properly. The cartridges probably leaked during storage. Next time, pull all of the carts out of the printer prior to storage.
Good luck, please rate this answer if you found it helpful.

WHAT IS THE CARRIAGE CARTRIDGE

There are two different types of carriage units that you may be referring to depending upon the model printer you have. Older types of photo printers had two distinct carriages.

1. Carriage referees to equipment that travel left to right in your printer.
2. One is for the print heads that receive ink from your print cartridges and dispenses it to the paper that you are using.
3. The print head carriage that travels back and forth to accept replacement ink cartridges. Most of the time it is tucked to one side or the other and only travels when the printer is opened in a specific way to expose it for ink replacements.

In newer systems the print heads are built into the Ink cartridge, each color has it's own print head.

So in answer to your question the carriage cartridge is more than likely the container that you put your ink cartridge into. Unless you have an older printer and then it would or could be the carriage for either the print head or the ink. They some times need to be replaced. I had to replace that cartridge in an old HP2500 for as long as we had the printer. (4 years). Great machine high maintenance.

The black printer cartridge leaked a fair amount of ink in to the printer. I am getting all lights flashing and the printer won't even turn off when I hit the power button. I did some cleaning and it...

Sorry to hear that.. here are some instructions that should help you out:

Instructions

things you'll need: Microfiber cloth

1. Ink Cartridge Errors
2. Turn the printer on and open the ink cartridge cover. Wait for the cartridge carriage to stop completely before reaching into the printer.
3. Press on the top of each print cartridge, then pull the cartridges free from the carriage. Make sure you are only using HP cartridges labeled as "HP 60" or "HP 60XL."
4. Reinstall the ink cartridges and close the cover. If the ink cartridge error message displays again, remove the ink cartridges as before.
5. Clean the copper metal contacts on the cartridges using a dry microfiber cloth. If you still see the error message after you reinstall the ink cartridges, replace hem with new cartridges.

Print using the device's ink backup mode if you do not have a replacement for one of the cartridges. Remove the cartridge you cannot replace and close the cover and continue printing. The printer will automatically use the backup mode until you install a new cartridge.

How to free carriage jam on lexmark X4550

There is a rod in the carriage of your printer that is meant for holding the cartridges. It keeps on moving and spreading the ink on the paper throughout the process of printing. If this rod is jammed because of any reason, you face a carriage jam. As mentioned above, the main function of the carriage rod is to spread the ink, so obviously any clog or ink failure will lead to a poor print quality. If rollers of your printer are leaving marks on the document, then you need to clean them with a wet cleaning pad. Never use the chemical cleaners such as benzine, thinner, or alcohol to clean the rollers. In extreme cases you might need to replace an old cartridge of your Lexmark Printer with a newer one. Once you get a new cartridge for your printer, you need to be very careful while replacing it, otherwise it might cause a carriage jam.fix Lexmark Carriage Jam .

How do I change ink cartridge on my HP inkjet 6500 wireless printer.

Hi, When using refilled print cartridges, the Estimated Ink level and the Printer Status Window may indicate that the print cartridge is out of ink. Either continue to use the print cartridge until print quality degrades, or replace the print cartridge with a new HP print cartridge.

The methods of replacing the ink cartridge of the printer follows here:
Open the printer cover
The printer ink carriage will automatically goes to center
Once the carriage is in the center, the printer was ready to replace the ink.
Pull the down slowly the ink tank off the carriage..
Remember the place where the color/black position.
Remove each tank one at a time, and replace the ink with a new one.
Close the printer cover and it now ready to printer.

How do I replace an ink cartridge on NX400?

Assuming that that you have no errors preventing the cartridge change, press the "setup" button, use the arrow buttons to select "maintenance" and press the "OK" button. The carriage will now move to the replacement position. If you have an error condition and you need to access the ink carriage then swith on the printer and when the carriage begins to move across to the left simply pull out the power cable. The carriage can now be carefully pushed into position. Ensure that the carriage is pushed back to the right before turing power back on.

Hope this helps, please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

Ink carriage

This is a tricky little printer. Here is your fix.

When you hold down the ink button for 3 seconds, the printer will perform a cleaning cycle.

But if you continue to hold the button for 10 to 15 seconds, it will then come ove to the opening where you can access the cartridges.
