Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Malfunctioning heating element is prime suspect obviously but it could be the temperature sensor which is stuck.
One way of hopefully getting around the problem is first to ensure the washer is empty then pour the contents of a boiling kettle into it. That can sometimes kick the temperature sensing device into correct action. It's worth a try anyway before having to call in the repair man ;-0)

yes,you can get manuals for most anything on the internet by going to the rite web site most items have a sticker for a web site and go to that web site and they usually will have a section to down load and able to print out a manual.
