Question about Yamaha 2500 Watt Industrial Inverter Generator YG2800i
I have a Yamaha EF1000is, that will not stay running unless the choke is pulled out. If I push the choke in, it revs up, then nearly dies, then revs up etc, until it does finally die. Any ideas on what the problem may be?
It is starved for fuel. PROBABLY needs to have carbureator cleaned and adjusted OR the fuel filter may be clogged.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the help, it turned out that the intake jet was totally plugged. Cleaned it out and it runs great."
I have the same thing. picked it up used. I did clean the carb, BUT I think that one needs to do more then just gently **** out the jets with a fine piece of COPPER wire. Try soaking all the carb parts on a carb cleaner for a few hours and blow everything put with compressed air.
