Question about Canon imageCLASS MF8170C All-In-One Laser Printer
I have an imageclass mf8170c that is 6-7 years old. The print quality is very poor. Vertically on the page, the print is okay on one side (the right +/- 2" fading away as you move left) and blank on the other. I have replaced all of the cartridges and the drum. My tech guy at the office says it it time to buy a new printer and just throw this away. If that is the case, I wish I would have done this before buying all new cartridges and the drum.
My friend, you have a good Tech Guy. I would suggest you speak with him before you speak to the guy that sells parts for your printer.
There might be stuff that can be done with your printer if you continued to fiddle around with it in your basement or garage, but alas, this is your office (your business?) ... can you afford to mess with it any more?
Be happy, listen to your Tech Guy, cut the loss, get a new printer. You might be able to recover part of your cost if you put your printer on Craig's list, e-bay or sell it for parts elsewhere or, donate it. Did I mention Be Happy?
