Open Question

Have a Remote Keypad model 898 that has stopped opening the door. Led on door indicates it is receiving a signal. Keyfobs work. What is reconnect proceedure?

I had the same question as my son installed the lock. Instructions should be printed on the cover you remove (inside the house). They need to make removing that cover MUCH easier, I'm always afraid I'll break it. Anyway, you press the button once for the first number. To enter a "guest" code, press the button twice then enter the 2nd code in the keypad and press the lock button. Now try both main # and guest #, both should open ttthe lock.

Garage door send receive signal


Caution: do not use LED bulbs with garage door openers. They are a possible source of signal interference between the transmitter and receiver on the opener.

Rapid blinking of that LED indicates it is receiving a signal. Make sure you don't have an old remote somewhere that is sending a signal and that your other remotes do not have a stuck switch. Remove the batteries and check that light.

Try this method for programming. Press and hold the button down on the remote while you press and immediately release the learn button. Do this for each remote.

Have you replaced the battery in the keypad? Try this:

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.

My wireless remote keypad stopped working. I changed the battery and it worked to get the garage door down but not up. The key pad is about 7 years old.


It sounds like your keypad is going bad and has a weak signal. It can operate the opener with the door open but with the door between it and the receiver it can't.

When i push remote control, the green light flashes on the back of the unit, but garage door doesn't open.


The flashing LED shows that it is receiving the radio signal but the code may need to be set. Try programming the unit and see if that works for you.

Remote doesn't work!!!


You could try to replace batteries. May be they are stong enough to make the LED flicker, but not strong enough to send out a proper signal to the receiver.

It sounds like this remote has lost its program! you will have to reprogram it!I hope this helps ya!
