The only way to bypass it is to put it into recovery mode. You can do this by turning it off and then holding the home button down then plugging it into the computer with itunes. The one you sync with. The phone will be in recovery mode, start iTunes and then you will be prompted to restore your phone. If you need further assistance, please ask.

As you have forgot the passcode you will have to restore the iPhone using iTunes.

Note: This process will wipe all data from your iPhone 4. You may be able to sync most of the data back once you have restored it.

1. With the iPhone 4 disconnected from your computer, power it off. Press and hold the Power button on the top of the device for a few seconds, then slide the red slider. If this method doesn't work, press and hold the Power and Home buttons for a few seconds until it goes off.

2. With the iPhone 4 off, press and hold the Home button while connecting it to the computer you registered it from. It should then power on.

3. Keep holding the Home button until you see a Connected to iTunes message appear on the screen.

4. Open iTunes and it should provide a message about an iPhone connected in Recovery Mode.

5. In iTunes, select the Summary tab and click Restore and follow the prompts.

6. You may attempt to sync your iPhone back to your iTunes to restore any data lost in the recovery process.

I hope this helps! Thank you for using FixYa!

Reset i phone password

It is never a joy when one loses or forgets a password. This is true within any situation.

But what makes it far less joyous, is when losing that password and not being able to retrieve it, can mean the difference between simply resetting a password, or not being able to retrieve or reset the password, and running risk of losing all the data secured by that password, completely.

Welcome to the lost or forgotten iPhone passcode.

a4da0e1.png

The passcode for an iPhone is the similar to a standard password with the exception that an iPhone passcode is only 4 numerical digits long, like that of a PIN or Personal Identification Number, more commonly implemented with bank ATMs.

A password on the other hand, can be as few as 6 digits up to 128 alpha-numeric characters or longer, depending on the encryption protocols which may be used with a password string at any given time.

A Pass code, is not as sophisticated by any measure, in regards to the password, especially with the numerous cryptic and encryption protocols that are employed in the process of creating effective passwords.

But don't be fooled by the passcode... try losing or forgetting a passcode and sometimes it can be a real pain just to restore it or reset it. The iPhone passcode has its challenges in that same fashion.

When an iPhone passcode is lost or forgotten by the user, like any access authentication string, it blocks the user from accessing his or her data on the now locked iPhone. Also, the passcode for the iPhone is not included with the iPhone's backup, so it makes retrieving the passcode nearly impossible to retrieve, especially if you have forgotten it.

So why would Apple make it so difficult to recover the lost passcode?

Why not? What happens if you lose your iPhone or it is unfortunately stolen? Do you want the individual who finds it, or in the perpetrator who stole it, to have access to your personal data on that device? Of course not! So chalk this up as a safety feature from Apple, to protect your private data and information, even in such an unfortunate situation.

Now what to do if you have forgotten your iPhone pass code?

You will have to unfortunately restore your iPhone with iTunes, which will unfortunately wipe the iPhone clean, but, it will gain you access to your device once again.

Now before crying in defeat, remember last time you synced your iPhone with iTunes (hopefully you did that recently)? You see, each time you sync your iPhone with iTunes, iTunes creates a back up of your iPhone's data.

The reason, results from if you do have to perform a recovery of your iPhone due to forgetting your iPhone passcode. Its that recent backup performed by your most recent sync with iTunes, which can be restored the first time you sync your iPhone, after a restore is completed.

Consequently, a restore is necessary, as a passcode is NOT included in any previous iPhone backup file. That is also a safety feature as well, because in the wrong hands with the right tech saavy, but ne'er do well individual, your precious data on the iPhone surely can be compromised.

Yes, you may have lost some files, applications or settings due to not syncing that information more recently. But think about it. It is better to have lost some data, than to have to start all over again, because you lost all your data.

With your previous iPhone back up through iTunes on your computer or notebook, you will will still be able to recover your music, video, calendar, and contacts, thanks to iTunes, but you may lose text messages and past mail for example.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To restore your iPhone is simple:
* Be sure you restore your iPhone on the same computer or notebook that your previous iPhone backup files or stored.

* Now, make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes
• Be sure your iPhone is correctly connected to your computer or portable.

• Finally, in the left column under Devices, click on your iPhone, then click on Restore in the Summary tab.

* Allow the process to complete and your iPhone will be restore to its original factory default settings.

* Now simply sync your iPhone with iTunes and this is where your last sync now comes into play. When you sync after the recovery, iTunes will look for your iPhone's previous backup and per your OK, will restore your most recent backup to your iPhone.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This time, when you set your passcode... Please make sure to write it down somewhere or on something, that is easily accessible and one you won't soon forget.

Yes, an iPhone passcode may only be 4 digits long, but from the explanation above, you can see, it makes a whole lot of sense to keep your passcode closer and another iPhone restore, as far away as possible!

Ipad forgotten password

From the apple support site:

iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode When you set up a passcode to secure the use of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and then enter the wrong passcode, you may see a a message saying your device is "disabled". Learn what to do if you have forgotten or can't remember your passcode, or if your device displays a message saying it is disabled. If you enter the wrong passcode six or more times, you'll see a message that says one of the following:
  • iPhone is disabled
  • iPad is disabled
  • iPod touch is disabled

  1. Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
  2. If the device is still disabled, or if iTunes does not automatically sync your device, sync the device with iTunes.
  3. When the backup and sync is complete, restore your device.
  4. When iOS Setup Assistant asks to set up your device, choose "Restore from iTunes backup".
  5. Select your device in iTunes and choose the most recent backup of your device.
Hope this helps!

Press the power button to power the iPhone on and keep it held while simultaneously pressing the home button
After a few seconds a yellow alert triangle will appear and the iPhone will say it is iPhone Restore Mode.
