Question about Jandy Laars Lt 400,000 Btu Heater

Pool controls act as if not getting power- bad control board?

I am not able to engage the heater- the power panel acts as if it is not getting power, but the pool equipment in general is running. Is it possible the control board is bad and approx. how much to replace it vs. new heater? The heater is 6 years old.

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

I would suggest you hire a local pool heater technician to diagnose the problem for you. Any decent tech can ID the problem and likely have it fixed in an hour or so and it could be something as simple as a blown transformer which with parts and labor would be under $200; far less than a control board and a fraction of the cost of a new unit. Questions to ask a potential tech would be how much an hour? Is there a service call or travel fee? Do you carry replacement parts on your truck or stock them nearby? How long do you guarantee your work?

If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!

Getting a sns code on control panel display. Where is the sensor located on this pool heater?

In the header... Plumbing side
And wire plugs onto heat / control assembly board.
SNS indicates that the Temperature Sensor is out of range! There are two thermistors within that sensor, and if there is a difference of 2 degrees, the board will throw a Fault Code: SNS
check for good connection at board, and ensure the sensor is all the way seated properly in its well.
otherwise, it may be bad.

Pump does not turn on. there is power to the board but nothing lights up

No power supply to "board" possibly 24vac, or an air type of control, so that the air supply pump is not active. Possibly the power supply to the pump and control board has "popped" the
circuit breaker. Check, the circuit breaker. There may also be a GFI Ground Fault Indicator that acts like a circuit breaker but is more sensitive, especially near water. Look at the receptacle that the motor plugs into. GFI has a test button and a reset button.

I have a Jandy Aqualink RS system. The wires for one of the valve activators was shorted and the outdoor control panel and the indoor control panel lost power. None of the circuit breakers was tripped.

On the RS system there is a small fuse on the back of the circuit board. That may have been burnt. It acts as a safety for the transformer. Make sure ALL of the power is off, then check that fuse. Do not keep the shorted valve actuator plugged in. Replace it, or leave it disconnected. Then replace the fuse. Then re-apply power to the unit. Otherwise your transformer may go out next. If the fuse is not burnt, which would surprise me, you may have a burnt transformer.

I have Jandy RS4 system with 4-button poolside controls for additional spa control. Inside house control panel stays totally lit up saying ''Rev 6700'', and cannot communicate or control pool operations. ...

Pull the cover off the control panel. You will probably find a button which would be accessible from outside the panel with a paper clip or pencil but is unlabeled. On the board itself by the button, in small letters it should say "reset". Push the button and see what happens.

Dishwasher acts like it isn't getting power.

If you have power to the board and no power out to components then your board has failed. Will need to replace board. Part#154635501 and sugg retail is about$100.

The front panel acts like there is no power.

Typically the intellitouch controller is wired to the "fireman" switch on the heater. If the switch is not closed the heater will not turn on. If the heater was wired to the controller through the power supply rather than the fireman switch and the fireman switch is not bypassed at the heater the problem you describe would be created.
