I have a hitachi p50h401 tv. when using the hdmi input i do not get sound out of the rca audio outputs. how can i get sound out the rca outputs

Check the manual. I doubt that the rca audio is for output. More than likely it's the audio input when using composite video.

Can i connect a regular dvd player to a hitachi flatscreen hdtv?

Yes you can. Simply connect the appropriate color inputs.

If you use red green blue for video, and red white for audio you will get the best picture

If not stick to yellow for video and white red for audio

Just remember color that is on the back of dvd goes to same color on the input for the tv

How to connect nintedo to plasma tv

Hi,things you will need,
  • Video game console
  • HDMI cable
  • Audio/visual cable.
  1. Plug in your video game console's power source.
  2. Connect one end of the game console's audio/visual cable into the corresponding slot on the console if you have an older game console. If you have a newer console, insert one end of an HDMI cable into your console's "HDMI OUT" port.

  3. Plug the red and white ends of the audio/visual cable into the corresponding red and white audio inputs located on the back of your Vizio plasma TV if you have an older game console. Plug the yellow cable into the yellow "Video In" input. Depending on which model of Vizio TV you have, the yellow input may be located either right next to the audio inputs or it could be located a few ports away.

  4. Plug an HDMI cable into one of your TV's "HDMI IN" ports, if you have a newer console.

  5. Turn on your video game console and your Vizio plasma TV. Press the "TV/VIDEO" button on your remote to cycle through the various inputs. You should eventually get to an input that's displaying your video game console's home screen.
I think that will do.

Have nice day.

Best solution to integrate Hitachi P50S602 into my B&K preamp

Hi, That is the best way. That connection allows you to take advantage of the panels audio features like sound leveling. The panel has a digital audio output(optical)which is good. By passing the video with the HDMI is the right thing also, the less connections in HD the less loss. You made the right choice ya Fixya yaself!

Dvd wont work.

First, is the DVD player output (Video out, audio out) connected to the TV input? Have you used the Yellow cable from  DVD video out to the TV video in? Mixing the audio and video cables will result in no signal. Have you selected the proper input with your TV remote control. Most plasmas accept a variety of input signals; you must select the right one. I deal with a number of these issues. Usually the connections are made improperly or the correct input source is not selected with the TV remote. Put a DVD in the player and press play. Be sure you have made the proper connection from DVD player video/audio out into an auxiliary or video input on the TV. These could be labeled Line 1 or Line 2.  With the DVD playing, run through the input options on your remote control. The button might be marked source, video or input. The screen should display your choices i.e. video 1, video 2, etc. When you see your DVD program, you've got the right combination.

I have a Hitachi Plasma TV model 55HDS69 that recently went black while being watched. I turned the main power off and unpluged it overnight and tried turning it back on, but only the red standby light...

Do it again, only this time unplug any video and audio inputs and outputs, unplug it from any power source, and leave it sit overnight.

I had the same problem with my Hitachi. I called a local repair shop and he said to unplug it for 10 minutes and start it again. That didn't work so I got it ready to take to the shop. I disconnected everything. The next morning I decided to check it one more time so I reconnected everything. It worked just as it had before.

I hope it works for you.

Lose audio to receiver when connecting component video input

Have the exact same problem, opened a case file with Hitachi.

I have a feeling it's a firmware problem -- hopefully they will make my life easy and mail me the proper cable I can connect from PC to TV, and the software to run such an upgrade (as opposed to packing this big thing up and carting it off to a service center).

I'll post my experiences.

Set up

Seems that Hitachi DESIGNED the sound to cut off from the Audio Out jacks if you use component video or HDMI inputs. Has to do with copyright laws of the HD Video -- which makes it asinine that they disabled the audio as well, as it's not part of the copyright issue. Seems to me they were just lazy to disable the ENTIRE set of output jacks.

I am hoping to find some sort of hack for this (either firmware or severing/splicing a control wire). However, I can't find much information on this yet.
