Question about HP DeskJet F4280 All In One Printer InkJet

Open Question

HP Deskjet F4280 won't pick up photopaper. It workd for about three 8x10 prints but now the rollers just don't seem to be able to grab on to it. I'm using the exact same paper...I thought about sticking blue tape, duct tape or a sheet of regular paper to the back of the photopaper so the rollers have a rougher surface to grab on to but I'm worried it may get jamed. Should I try these ideas or do you have any other solutions? Thanks ! Ana

what you need to do is clean your pick up rollers so they are tackier and can grab the paper. Do this with isopropyl to a drop of dish soap and scrape at it with your nail. When you wipe it off with a damp cloth it will come out sticky again and will be able to grab the heavier paper

Parts are no longer available. You might be able to clean the feed roller by removing the toner cartridge and cleaning the gray roller with isoprpyl alcohone.

SOURCE: Have a hp laserjet 4l paper jam problem. No paper

I have had a similar problem. The 4L has an inherent fault in the motor drive gear. It is made of nylon and has probably developed a hair line crack. As a result the gear slips when the printer starts up and tries to feed paper. I have replaced this part some years ago by replacing the whole motor and gear. I did find the replacement parts on eBay today. Here's the url:

http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Laserprinterkits-Printer-Repair__W0QQ_armrsZ1QQ_fsubZ4

The manual is also on line at another place. But when you order the parts you get a manual on CD. I am not the guy selling the parts but need them too that's how I found them.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Tray 2 won't feed, grab, or pick up paper

Try stretching the springs under the cassette lift plate to put more tension on the plate.

Take out the trays, lift the main body off of tray 3, remove the toner cartridge then turn the machine upside down.

Check to see if the feed roller shaft does not have a broken tab and that the roller has good tread on it.

As for tray 3, i've had lots of problems with the gears wearing down their shafts, no replacement parts available for tray 3.

You would have to buy a whole new tray 3 assembly.

Good luck!

How can i fix my HP Deskjet F4280 printer, it wont pick paper for printing

Uninstall the printer, delete drivers, look if new drivers are available for it and reintall the printer.
If problem continues my guess is that your printer is defective.
Printers are made of chep plastic materials and after some use parts get worn out and break down. HP has a so called repair kit available for repair service. If your printer won't pick papaer, quite probably some of these partss is damaged. If you don't know how to repair printers aand dont have access to parts, take it to a repair service.

I have an HP Deskjet F4280 All-in-One printer. It will not grab the paper to print. I have tried some solutions that I read on a site to shut the power off, turn the printer on/off button 10 times, wait...

The feed rollers are probably dirty. look inside where the leading edge of the paper sets, the feed roller are right above..might only be 1 roller. Put some rubbing alcohol on a rag (not a tissue or paper towel) and clean the roller. It will only roll one way.
Hope this helps

I bought my hp deskjet f4280 over 2years ago and i kept it without using it. It was brought today and i discovered that is not printing. The resume red button is blinking. Several test pages were sent to...

well, i would guess that you are using the ink cartridges that came with it.
The ink actually has an expiration date like food, and more thab likely the ink has dried up. If the printer is reading the ink levels, is may count them as being empty.
Try getting new ink and see if that works, as that is most likely the cause of the fault.

Hp deskjet 1280

seems like the pick up roller and seperation pad are dirty or worn.try cleaning them with nail polish remover. the roller is located at the bottom of the printer where the leading edge of the paper is the seperation pad sits under the pick up roller.
