Question about Ricoh IS 330DC Flatbed Scanner
Good day all,
Pls I need help.
I have successfully installed the IS330DC (Network scanner) driver on the Vista 64 machine but when I click on scan, it comes up with an error ''36851: No response from the scanner''.
I am able to ping the scanner IP address from my machine.
The scanner has been tested to work well on Vista 32 machines.
What else can I do?

We have also seen that Adobe Acrobat doesn't produce very clear scans (with a range of scanners). Adobe gives very good pdf file size but it downsamples images.

Try adding the scanner's IP address in the scnhosts file in the TWAIN folder. Format is similar to the windows hosts file. You'll see a commented out sample entry, just modify that to suit your needs.
This may or may not work for you; we had it working under this configuration but then it stopped for no apparent reason. also note that scanrouter isn't supported under vista. Only advice I've been given so far is to revert to sending scans via SMTP - not ideal!

Visit the Ricoh download site and download the latest driver. This will ask you if you wish to overwrite, say yes. Hopefully this will replace the corrupt file.

Are you using the proper Windows Vista Driver? You can't use the XP version...here's a link to the download page:

I've just discovered that Ricoh's built in software only works if your SMTP server sends out without picking up password or authentication.
Having same issue and it worked fine when it was behind corporate firewall with the same connection settings (IP address) as the SMTP server.
Once I changed web hosting - it won't recognize the SMTP server or any authentication methods. According to IKON (Ricoh support for the USA) - your SMTP server has to have "relay exception"
