You are most likely getting this message because of a paper size mis-match. For example, you are sending a print job as letter size but your printer is set to or has a4 size installed. When the printer sees that the print job is not a matched size to the paper in the tray, it will look to the manual feed tray for paper to print on, hopefully the correct size. Make sure your paper setting in printer properties on your computer match the paper in the printer and the print job "page setup" is also the same size/

Bought brand new Samsung M2885FW. Connected it. Wireless printing Worked fine with my IPad for 10 prints. Then started getting message "no paper in manual feed tray", although the tray was full of paper. Checked paper settings. Everything was as it should be. After 2 days of head scratching, it finally dawned on me that since Apple and Samsung are rivals maybe this had something to do with it. By the way the problem started when I tried to print an image from iMessage. The printer just would not accept the print Command from iMessage and was throwing a spurious message of no paper. However once I went in to the Samsung Print app, then selected photos and printed the image that way, everything worked.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: paper source

I would suggest checking printer properties in the computer and ensure the paper size and source is Letter and set to Automatic Choose. Another choice may be to deleted the printer driver and re-install it. You can also go into the menu options until you get to Set factory defaults, press Select, then try the print job again.
I really suspect a program is controlling this from the computer.
To get a list of the existing printer settings, Select Menu and use the Right Arrow button until you get to Printer Menu Settings. The printed report should tell you what your actuall settings are. Maybe the default is set to Custom, instead of Letter.
The Set Factory Defaults option should fix most problems.

SOURCE: manual feeder paper empty Huh?

Please disconnect the printer from the PC/laptop after powering it off. Reconnect it after a minute or so. Check if it works. If it does not then follow the link below to uninstall and reinstall it. The reboot is as important as the drivers.

Press the RESUME/CANCEL button on the printer to clear the error, then load one sheet of A4 or Letter-sized paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder.

Samsung scx-4248FN will not print. it shows "manual feeder paper emtpy" there is paper, I added more, I turned it off and on twice??

Presume that the paper sensor stopped working. If after reset it still "reuses" to recognize it has paper, you should take your printer to a repair service.

Good day, I keep getting an error message saying the Feeder Tray is full - even when empty?

You might have a dislodged flag but your error is sort of cryptic. Is it the ADF feeder, the manual tray feeder? More details might enable me to answer your question better. Check all the flags in the paper paths to ensure that they move smoothly and are not stuck in one position.

I cannot get the envelope fuction to work correctly. The printer tells me I have a paper jam, when in fact I am trying to print an envelope

The printer will stop printing is there is an error, check for any paper jam before printing. Take note of the error message and locate the exact jam.

Use the manual feeder when printing on envelopes. You may click on the link http://bit.ly/rnHp5b to see instructions on how to go about the procedure using the manual feeder.
