Hi Please follow the the steps given below Make sure that the printer's power cord is connected to the walljack (Avoid if there is any surge protector or extension cord) Take out all the ink cartridges Take a clean cloth, dampen it in distilled water and with that cloth clean copper contacts of the cartridges firmly Let them dry for 2 minutes Unplug all the cables from the back of the printer while printer is turned on (After closing all the doors that are open and also keep the cartridges out) After 2 minutes, plug in the power cable Put the ink cartridges in one by one, then close all the doors again Printer would start going through some maintence and then would start aligning the ink cartridges All the best!! Printer says Ink system has failed. One of the cartridges was missing for one month and since I replaced it this message shows.I did all as per HP support and is still not working.

sounds like the printing heads are clogged. try taking old cartridge and putting rubbing alchohol in it and try several times to print test page. you can also use q-tip to clean the area where the cartridge ink connects to cartridge holder.

"ink system failed"

This could be an issue with the connectors to the chips on the cartridge, make sure the chips on the carteidges are clean then check the ones on the inside of the ink holder, POWER OFF before doing this as you could cause damage to the printer if powered on, lift the lid, wait for the rack to engage the centre then turn the power off at the wall.
Hope this helps

I get an error message "Ink system has failed",,what is this..I have replaced all cartridges, and still no good it then says carriege jam..nothing seems to be in the way, etc

I can only guess the printhead may be clogged, and you may have two things to try:
1.- Run several (>10) cleaning cycles, hoping it will unclog the prinhthead
2.- Try with brand new cartridges

I don't know if it will work, but ink ages, and it might have dried in the cartridge and clog the printhead. Fortunately, HP builds the printhead into the cartridge, so replacing it is cheaper than with other manufacturers.
OR
  1. ress the On button to turn the all-in-one off.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the all-in-one.
  3. Remove all the ink cartridges.
  4. Wait two minutes.
  5. Plug the power cord into the back of the all-in-one.
  6. Press the On button to turn ON.
  7. Install the ink cartridges when prompted.
If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved.

After shutting down, release both buttons and power on the printer.

Alternatively follow instructions on this document from HP.

Cannot get LCD screen to show Replace Ink message

try this

1. Make sure your unit is powered and not printing.

2. Press the SETUP button and then use the select arrows until you see REPLACE INK, then press the COLOR COPY button. The ink cartridges will move to the replacement position.

3. Lift up the unit's cover, to access the ink cartridges.

4. Pinch the tabs on the front and back of the cartridge, and lift it out of the printer.

5. Before removing the new cartridge from it's package, shake the cartridge 4-5 times. Do not shake the cartridge once it has been removed from the cartridge holder.

6. Lower the new cartridge into its holder, then press down on the top of the cartridge until it clicks in place. Caution: Don't touch the green circuit board on the back of the cartridge, as you may inhibit normal operation and printing.

7. Repeat steps 4-6 for any other ink cartridges that require replacement.

8. Once complete, please lower the scanner and press it down until it clicks into place. The EPSON Stylus RX500 begins charging the ink delivery system.

The On light flashes and the EPSON Stylus RX500 makes noise. Charging takes about 30 seconds. When it's finished, the On light stops flashing and stays on steady. At this point press COPY to move back to COPY mode.

Caution: Never turn off the EPSON Stylus RX500 while the On light is flashing, unless the Stylus RX500 hasn't moved or made noise for more than 5 minutes.

Hi,

Ink System Failure is a Hardware Issue, which indicates that the Ink Delivery system failed to initialize.

I suggest you to perform the below the troubleshooting steps, if it doesnt fixes, then the printer need to be serviced or replaced.

1.Turn OFF the printer, unplug the power cable and the USB from the printer. Then Press and Hold the ON/OFF button for 1 minute and then reconnect the cables and try again. If it doesnt fixes, goto next step.

2.Remove the ink cartridges, Turn the printer OFF and Unplug all the cables from the back of the printer.Connect the Printer directly to the wall outlet.Turn it on and wait until u get a prompt to insert the ink cartridges. If it didnt work, go to step 3.

3.Remove the ink cartridges again and close the access door.Disconnect the power cable while the printer is ON.Now Press and Hold the OK and CANCEL button. While Holding the OK and CANCEL button insert the power cable and continue holding the button until u get a message "NVM Reset" or untill the printer goes OFF.Then release the buttons and press ON/OFF button.

4.If you still get the same error, then the printer needs to be serviced.
